The Markets of Old London

September 30th, 2012
Some great pics here of markets of London taken in the early part of the 20th century, some long gone, but some kind of barely recognisable - Covent Garden as a proper working market, Leadenhall empty of after-work bevying city workers ...don't think they'd approve of the hanging carcases ...

There are some really nice shots in there. I don't live in London but it would be great to see some then & now shots using these images.

For example, here is one I did by carefully pealing away the top layer of my photo of Tring Natural History Museum.

Good stuff... I come across articles from the gentle author every so often and usually a decent little read...

I love stuff like this, thank you for sharing. Earlier this year I read this book: http://www.play.com/Books/Books/4-/6127182/-/Product.html and it was fascinating, highly recommend it.
