Whilst not everyone is a fan of Eric Kim, I am, and rather enjoyed this article. And hey I thought it was time for a photography post in the threads, as I sure you all have enough followers by now :P
I love your spot on cynicism... and I have saved the article to Pocket as Eric suggests right at the beginning so I can read it later when I have a clear head and some time. Looks good.
Great article and one of the greatest photobooks of all time!
Info for people who might want to buy the book:
Robert Frank's "The Americans" is published by Steidl, and while they do a fresh print run every two or three years, the book usually sells out in a few months, then the price goes up to about £100 on the second hand market until Steidl reprint it again.
The 6th edition, re-printed in 2012, is in circulation now, and it can be bought on Amazon for around £13 (or from independent bookstores and art galleries (such as, let's say, Tate Modern) for £19.95). But stock at the publisher is running very low, and I expect it will be unavailable again within a month or two.
So, if you are thinking of buying a copy, I advise you get one now!
