Some good shots there, I guess we all do daft things to get pics at times, here is my DSLR set up for a shot:
Possibly not that clear from the pic - but that is a full height tripod, and yet the lens cap and strap are dangling in the water - which is about an inch below the camera!
And that was the easy bit - the rest of the story involves boats, mud, waders, tight spaces, and going where no-one has been for many years:
Haha, thanks for sharing! Some photos are hilarious!
I like taking pics of photographers and I have a few in my project, but I think this one is the funniest:
@kjarn if you like the idea of underground/underwater pictures - then take a look at the following set I took - a ballroom below the lake of an English Stately home:
warning - it does contain mankinis! (not me thankfully)
@kjarn - so many other place I could share - abandoned Russian submarines, ancient tin mines, the test chambers for concordes jet engines (complete with 2,000 MPH extractor fans!) - abandoned underground WW2 factories, underground rivers, derelict piers, underground quarries with chambers the size of cathedrals - there is a whole world just waiting to be photographed.
@tigerdreamer - yep the tiny little umbrella is cute!!
I shoot a lot of pictures in abandoned quarries, mines, buildings etc - and water from above can be a killer for a camera - just a few well aimed drops can destroy a DSLR.
One recent shot I had planned required my camera to be placed in a spot that was wetter than standing under an incontinent giraffe!
Waterproof case for my DSLR cost more than the camera - so this is the solution I now use, pocket sized brolly £1 ($1.57) giant 'twisty ties' £1 ($1.57)
Protected camera, priceless..
and the brolly and ties are both small enough to live in the tripod case for when needed.
