are there any other families on 365 my mom dad sister brother sister-inlaw grandma and granny are all on 365 anyone else have families on 365 if so let me know!
@katiegc24 I didn't find it offensive but I think there are other words that could be used.
I understand that it is a way of saying uncool but as someone who has been in a gay relationship and has many gay friends, I wonder why that word is used to describe uncool... as neither me or my friends are uncool.
Regarding the original question, none of my family are doing the project but that is because they are not in to photography
@frameit Agreed - although I do have a bit of a joke with my brother in which that word in particular is used. I have gay friends, none of whom have a problem with that word being used in that way, some of them use it themselves. I am not too sure why it means that either, and I do apologise if I offended anyone, but nowadays there are more than one meaning to that word (the same as many others actually) and really, the original meaning is just something happy. As I said, I don't think that anyone in a gay relationship is uncool simply because of that - it is just a word.
@katiegc24 My son went through a stage where everything was gay... we discussed that it had various meanings that some people may find it offensive and that he should be aware of that.
the way you used especially directed at your brother was said in fun and so I did not have a problem with it
@frameit Thanks :) I am very well aware of that it could be seen as offensive.. but I am also aware that there are a lot of things that could be seen as offensive and that it is incredibly hard to live your life always worrying that something you say could be taken the wrong way. I am a piano/keyboard teacher.. somewhere I heard that we are not allowed to call them black and white keys any more, in case it is racist. To my mind that is simply crazy - they are just colours!! (sorry if I happen to have offended anyone there.)
Also sorry about the ramble.. this is actually something I feel quite passionately about.
HIJACKED PORTION OF THREAD:
my homosexual friends use the term "gay" to describe something lame/etc. more than my straight friends do. i attempted to stop calling things gay, but was informed that is "totally gay."
