Pretty Clever SLR Belt Clip Thing! Do A Clickston

May 8th, 2011
SLRs; they're awesome, but they're a whole heap of large. Swinging from the strap around your neck they're always in the way, stuck in your bag they're hard to get to... is there a better way?!!? DEAR LORD LET THERE BE A BETTER WAY!?

Well this rassclat reckons he's come up with one.

If you want one, you can apparently pre-order one from here.

I think it looks like a pretty cool guy... what do you think?

Very cool -- quite inventive. BUT, I don't think I could wear a 2.5lb something strapped to my belt..might lose my britches! I think the shoulder harness mounting option is good, and the bike thing is super cool.

It doesn't go with my outfit.

@sdpace My thoughts exactly! I don't think I'd want to lose my pants... considering my D300 + 18-200 is about a 5lb combo last time I weighed them, I'm pretty sure a wardrobe malfunction would definitely occur!

I use the R-Strap by Black Rapid ( http://www.blackrapid.com/) and I absolutely love it. Very comfortable way to carry around a camera all day long without losing your britches! And they even have a new one out for us ladies that is curved around our anatomy.

@hmgphotos That doesn't bounce against your hip as you walk? That one looked like something I'd go for before losing my shorts with the belt clip one above.

@meggageg lol That is funny. Do you have a strap that does go with your outfit?

@joshuaramey believe it or not my goal is to have straps that do match my outfit. Seriously.

@meggageg i wish there's a like button for every funny comments. hahahhaha

I think it looks like an awesome idea, I wear a bum bag (fanny pack for you Americans!) when I walk with my dogs, I bought a point and shoot for all the reasons he stated about lugging the SLR around. I might give this a go.

Cotton Carrier. http://www.cottoncarrier.com/ Of course it looks like you're compensating for a personal inadequacy.

@webfoot I guess it depends on how you walk/angle the camera on the strap? It's nothing too irritating/noticeable, at least not to me. There's an adjuster that you can move to adjust where the camera sits (how far back, etc). I know it does bounce if you run, but walking I can't recall it really bothering me (and I've worn it on the strap for 8+ hours at a time, walking all over the place)

@hmgphotos Great. That's good to know about it.
