I don't read the Daily Mail!! Honestly.
Anyway, as an amateur hobbyist this doesn't bother me at all, although I wouldn't want one myself.
I know it upsets the purists, so no change there then! It's here, it's now ( on the shelves next year) and no railing against it will change anything. As King Canute discovered!
From what I can see right now what they can do is making a part in focus and another blur, but there is no distinct characteristic of the lens' bokeh. Wonder how, or if possible when, this technology will produce something that can mimic or replace those so called "bokeh king" lenses!! Even now some decade old lenses are sold at much higher prices than, say, some top Canon L lenses because of the way they render color, blur, etc. For me I will stick to the lenses with characters I love :-)
I think it will make a great point and shoot and especially useful when trying to capture my always on the run toddler, maybe not so much for anything artistic that I would want to add more umph too.
