VERY NEW WITH A NIKON1 J1

I had a d40 and a coolpix s8100 for a while but i did a little bit of bartering and got a nikon1 j1 AND a pancake lens. i am very new photography. i just think its amazing hobby to share with my friends and family. i'm an artist/musician/writer and i am extremely getting interested in the basics of this project. i am BEGGING you al for tips! as far as this project is concerned.
