After looking at all the creativeness in the WWYD competitions, I thought I would ask for help on editing one of my pictures. This picture is taken on a recent road trip taken by four of us girlfriends who are all moms with busy lives. I imagined this picture to show the essence of the trip - relaxation. We all had our pedicures in the lakeside resort and spa we stayed, and were sitting and chatting on the balcony. I really wanted a sunset look to this picture but because of low light and lack of external flash, we got blurry ones, so we tried it again in the morning. So, WWYD? Thanks.
Haha, sorry. But does it have to be in my album, to paste here? It is unedited, so I'm not sure if I want it to be in my album pre-edit, especially if I can't replace it.
Thanks, Paula. I pre-dated it January 2011. HEre is the picture.
Can't wait to see what you all come up with. I'm sure me and my friends will have continuation of our fun weekend looking at all the edited pics.
first off, i think this is awesome... looks like you four are having a stellar time. i made just a few changes but i think your original pic is a lot of fun all the same! here's my version...
@grecican like it a lot. Great idea to highlight legs. Did you do anything for the rest of the picture except making it black and white? Like brightness, contrast etc? I like how it minimized all the clutter in the background and brought the focus to the pedicures. Thank you very much.
Cropped a little of the left, straightened it a bit, applied one of my B&W presets and a graduated filter along the top which is a bit crappy but I have Manthrax so feel free to give me sympathy :)
I would do something like this:
Masked out the foreground and increased the saturation and fiddled with the colour a bit in the background. I wanted to make it look more tropical!
Also straightened and cropped a little.

Thank you all. I know I can count on you. It's wonderful to see each and every person's view of it. Individually looking, each edit conveys a different mood. I like it. @sdpace I like how you made it like a painting. How did you add that texture? @beautifulthing Like the blurred background keeping us sharp. Brings the focus to us. @jasehoad Very nice contrast in the b&w version. @photobabblez Love the sepia toned look. @marydreams I'm sorry I'm a newbie especially to editing, what's cross-processing? Like the brightened colors. @cavemonster This is more close to the original but with enhanced colors and much needed edited look.
Thanks to all of you again for taking the time to edit. I even learned a couple things with this thread.
