New Camera

I am looking for a new camera!
This is the one I am currently using: http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&redirect=true&ref_=sr_ex_n_1&keywords=DSC-HX7V&bbn=281052&qid=1288867366&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A502394%2Cn%3A281052%2Ck%3ACanon%20PowerShot%20SD1300%20IS

I was looking at a Canon EOS Rebel T3 and am wondering what you guys might suggest! Also, I am looking to buy a vintage Polaroid camera just for fun and pictures with my friends and what not. So if you guys have any tips or maybe a better camera in mind, let me know! My budget is limited, as well...

Everyone has their opinion. On a budget for a point and shot I would say this camera as it is rated very high. The canon Power shot S95. I passed it off to my fiance when I stepped up into the DSLR realm. As far as DSLR's go if I were to consider a T3. I would save my money for at least the T2i or the T3i. Just saying if your going to drop that amount of cash way not save a bit more for much more in a camera.

Here is the link to the point and shoot I was referring.

Hey
Do Canon, whatever you can afford, none of these fidly little Sony fancy whatsits.

Polaroid wise, go to your local thrift store, charity flee market, anything like that, you'll get one for $5. Don't buy one for $25 from some antique shop fool. Only problem is you're gonna have to shell out like $50 for every 10 shots if you want original polaroid film. why not buy a fuji instax? the 210 is on ebay for about $60 and it takes cheap fuji instant film which is still in production. you can get minis too. Check ebay out for all cameras, you take a risk people think, but that's not true, really you just save 0000s.

I got a polaroid with film recently for free online, and I bought my Canon DSLR for $300 on eBay. Good luck

@chewyteeth I found a Canon + a lens on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005Z3DWIY/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&m=A36DL6WLK2RE7O
Is this a good price? And I will look up the instax right away!

I have the Canon Rebel T3 and I love it!
January 15th, 2012
@cjwhite So you would recommend it? And, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? And was it with or without a lens?
January 15th, 2012
@chewyteeth Also, I found this http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-INSTAX-Instant-Photo-Camera/dp/B002YOVF90/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1326671132&sr=8-3 and was wondering if it's a good price? And how much film comes in each pack?

@jonstermonster I got a deal; on Black Friday. It was a bundle that included the camera with a standard lens, camera bag, and a 4GB memory card. I paid $525.00 including tax. I am very happy with it!

My mom has the Canon Rebel T3! I used it alot before I got my camera! & Loved it! Awesome camera! I highly recommend it!
January 16th, 2012
@cjwhite Alright! So is 599.95 a good deal for a not on sale camera? (Camera + Lens)

@abbeygrace Thank you! I have also heard good things!

@jonstermonster It sounds good to me!

@jonstermonster

I would look at eBay, don't be scared. the package with all the film sounds super, I reckon there's 10 in each pack, but the same thing from polaroid would be triple the price. As for the camera can you not get the much better Canon T2i? About 350 in this country so about $599, don't worry about lenses, the 70-200 isn't that good, you want wide angle or 50mm unless you're doing wildlife, the 70-200 wouldn't be much on ebay or second hand if you just got the camera. the T2i has 18 megapixels and is super cool. So thats a yes, for my part, on the instax (even though you might beat it on eBay but only just) and a maybe to the Canon, if you can't get the T2i then go for it. (check the model T2i thought first, that's its American name, here we call it the 550D.

I have the T1i, absolutely love it, and have had it for a few years now. I know there has been some innovations for the T2i and T3i, but spend some time reading around about what those differences really are and whether they are actually important to you.

Don't take a lot of photos of yourself or from funny angles? Then maybe you don't need the movable screen of the T3i ... etc. If you are looking to save money, then a slightly older version might be right for you.

@chewyteeth The thing I am looking for the lens is for a zoom. I need an okay zoom, at least.

@archaeofrog And thank you! I will look that up. I basically just want a new DSLR instead of this digital point and shoot. Any DSLR, old or new, will probably work for me haha

@jonstermonster
Well if you like the original stuff get that. I don't mind patching things together. I bought a ring adaptor for my Canon so it would also fit Pentax lenses, of which there're millions knocking about for $10-$40 so I bought a 50mm prime lens, a 35-70mm zoom and a 70-320mm zoom and a 35-100mm zoom/macro and it came to $35 and I use them all on my pentax bayonet film camera and my digital canon. this means i can't use auto settings on my digital camera, I have to use manual or AV because the lenses are manual. But if you don't care so much about the money buy the ones you showed, look good. i don't think you'll regret getting a fuji instead of a polaroid, all the polaroid film stock is expired now anyway. If in the future you want a polaroid and see one for cheap the 300s take the fuji film I believe. Read the reviews of fuji instax film on amazon they say its better than polaroid ever was. good luck.
