What are YOU scheming on?

July 6th, 2010
As far as I can tell, every photographer is always scheming on their next piece of gear. As soon as I get something new, I always think, "And now all I need is..."

Right now, I'm plotting on the Nikon "Micro" 85mm f/3.5 (so I can finally retire the "Ghetto Macro" adapter). What are you scheming on / saving for next?
July 6th, 2010
I am looking for the same thing actually ha ha. Either that or a 50mm prime lens
July 6th, 2010
new laptop. The one I have now is a piece of junk and needs to be replaced.
July 6th, 2010
This is really weird. I cannot think of anything I want. In the last six months I have bought a new camera (p and s only kind I use now), an mp3 player, and a little notebook computer. Hmmm, maybe old age has its's benefits.
July 6th, 2010
Can't go wrong with a macro. I think everyone should own one! I have a 90mm Tamron that's on my camera almost always.

Currently, I'm planning on a nifty 50!
July 6th, 2010
Either the Nikon 35mm 1.8 AFS or the Nikon 24mm 2.8D AF. It would be a nice add to my 50mm, and the nice midrange zooms are too damn much, so for less money I can get 3 prime lenses and have clearer images.

Also looking to buy a flash modifier kit like this one... it would be a nice change from my ghetto rigged setups that I can't take in public.... http://www.amazon.com/Strobies-Modifier-Diffuser-Reflector-Honeycomb/dp/B003EN56XG/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1MCVDVX2VEVRX&colid=2WSLX0G9JT0JG

A Nikkor 10.5 mm f/2.8. If you're tired of yours I will be happy to take it off your hands. haha.
July 6th, 2010
I've been wanting a flash transmitter and receiver, but my husband just informed me that one is on its way in the mail. Woohoo! Now....what to set my sights on next?
July 6th, 2010
mmm....... Canon 180mm f/3.5L Macro and 14mm f/2.8L II usm wide angle lens.
July 6th, 2010
fisheye
July 6th, 2010
New flash, canon speedlite 270ex
July 6th, 2010
I just bought my first DSLR ( Sony Alpha a230), and at this point I'm still trying to figure out how to use it to my advantage as opposed to the point and shoot that I did have. I think I'd like to have a wide angle lens, and a portrait lens, but we will see.
July 6th, 2010
I would like a macro, or a fisheye. Both stupidly expensive and not worth it because I'd probably get bored with using them after a short while :-) Doesnt stop me wishing I had one tho!!
July 6th, 2010
UWA and 600mm telephoto lens!!!! dream dream dream....
July 6th, 2010
ive got 2 things i really want

#1 10-20mm sigma wide angle
#2 external flash

tax time coming up yayyyyyyyyy
July 6th, 2010
me... hmmmm I need a new body as mine is one foot in the Smithsonian. Most likely looking at the D90 in thoughts that the full frames will be more available by Nikon in the near future. Don't want to spend the money on a D300 when the D90 is pretty much the same camera.
July 6th, 2010
A really wide-aperture lens. Something in the realm of f/1.8. :D
July 6th, 2010
My own camera...I'm always stealing my husband's. And then a macro lens...and, and, and....
July 6th, 2010
I've been eyeing either a 70-200 2.8 or new body. Like Jeff, I'm thinking about a d90.
July 6th, 2010
Good luck everyone with your wish list, I'm just happy to have my Olympus and thankful I can see to take a photo, many many people have no eyesight, so if I gather any funds I think I will donate half to the Blind Society.
July 6th, 2010
A Canon 550D :(
July 6th, 2010
I'm thinking either a macro or maybe even a wideangle lens....Gosh I need to save up :)
July 6th, 2010
I want a macro SO bad!!! I have to save up, so instead I ordered the macro close up filters until I can afford the actual macro lens!! Ohhh - but I want one soo much!
July 7th, 2010
Sue
I really just want a good unipod or tripod for now
July 7th, 2010
actually, nothing right now since I just purchased a negative scanner, hard drive and new laptop. but after the novelty wears off? perhaps a dslr, but I;m really liking the portability of my p&s and I don't know If it will be serious "scheming" for a dslr.
July 7th, 2010
A Nikon D3000 :) and a camera bag for it :P
July 7th, 2010
I've got lots of stuff I'd like to pick up, but my next purchase will likely be a Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX. Unless Nikon's replacement for the D700 is as clean at super high ISO as the D3s.
July 7th, 2010
I know I am no where near it but I would like to upgrade to a true SLR from my current Nikon P90. Don't get me wrong, the P90 rocks as point & shoots go, but I really really want more control! =D
July 7th, 2010
I bought a wide angle lens last week but it wasn't wide enough. So I sent it back and am waiting for the ultra-wide angle to come in the mail. Love the wide angle look, hope I can come up with some good shots with it. Anyway, there goes the better part of a grand and any further "scheming" until next year.
July 7th, 2010
I would love a macro lens.
July 7th, 2010
I would just really love a DSLR in general....
July 7th, 2010
I am scheming on a NEW camera. Something nice. :D & a macro lens.
July 8th, 2010
a macro lens and filters. And an underwater/waterproof camera
July 8th, 2010
I'm currently saving up to get a Canon 7D. After that, I'm hoping to pick up some new lenses, especially a macro.
July 8th, 2010
I am scheming on a completely legal way of coming up with a ton of money to buy all the equipment I want. ; P Maybe a rich uncle I didn't know about will die and bequeath his fortune to me. =D
July 8th, 2010
I already have shiny macro kit for cheapo 8D Although, I was moaning the other day about how far back I have to step to get things framed with my 40-80mm, and that I really ought to get a wide-angle, and then realised that my other manual lens actually has a 20-80mm range and may negate me needing to get one of those. Yay for saving money! 8D I need a telephoto lens, really, like a 200mm or summat. Too bad I have a degree to pay for!
July 8th, 2010
An iPhone 4 and a copy of Photoshop Lightroom.
July 9th, 2010
Jenn, no scheming on MY stuff lol :)

Jeff, the D300 really blows the D90 away in build quality though... something to consider if you are planning to have it a long time...

Brad, Lightroom is where its AT, good call!

Rachel, let me know if that uncle of yours needs extra friends / beneficiaries on his life insurance policy :)
July 9th, 2010
Definitely, Reid
July 9th, 2010
I have learned to pay no attention to the salespeople that always make you feel like what you have is inferior.

I have shot with nothing more than a Nikon Film and Digital for 13+ years, a 35-70 zoom, a 55-200 Zoom, and no one seems to complain.

Save your money, and do something nice for you wife, children, or whoever is of interest to you.
July 9th, 2010
I really want a gorilla pod :D

or a Macro
July 10th, 2010
I really want to upgrade to a D 700 :D

But with no work I don't think that's happening anytime soon :p
July 10th, 2010
NOTHING! I am very, very, very, very, very boring! :D
July 10th, 2010
