Ok so I am slowly delving into HDR... I have done alot of merging of two RAW files and I like that, but I really want to get into HDR. I have not been able to find much on the web, surprisingly. I have a coupon for Photomatrix software, has anyone used that for HDR? Even with that, I need to know some things... for example, what file format should my file be in? Somewhere I read they should be .tiff files, is that right?
I would love to find a really good tutorial that takes you through the steps to create HDR. I have gotten pretty good at merging RAW files like I said, but it's also time consuming and it's limited to just two files. I kinda like the results but I feel that I'm missing out on the intensity of what HDR can do. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I did try HDR one or twice with a trial version of Photomatrix but had no idea what I was doing and did not notice any difference in my image when I was done - so obviously I did not do something right :)
hi Dayna,
you will discover all you need to know about HDR photography from Trey Ratcliff on his site: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/hdr-photography/
He and 'Valpopando' on Flickr were the mainmen in HDR who inspired me to give it a go, there are so many more exponents of the technique now but you won't go too far wrong with these two guys, good luck!
