Showoff...

December 4th, 2010
Someone either posted a discussion or a picture about "Out of Bounds" photos, but I can't for the life of me find it. :(

But anyway, I tried my luck at it last night and here is mine!! (I'm showing off, I know, but I am so excited that I actually did it!!)

Anyone can do it, its real simple...ish. It took me about 3 hours to do it the first time, but I could probably do it again in about 3 mins. Usually its done in Photoshop but I found a tutorial to do it in GIMP2: http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com/gimp-out-of-bounds.html

I got lost when they started talking about creating a mask layer, so I just used the eraser tool instead and cut a bunch of steps out of equation.

For those of you who don't know, GIMP2 is free software very similar to Photoshop. To download: http://www.gimp.org/

@indiannie_jones Thanks!

@rebcastillo77 Thanks! You should definitely try it. It's loads of fun!

Oh and I mentioned the skipping steps incase someone tried to use the link to try this effect. I found the eraser tool much easier than what they had done.

On a side note--as I am writing this comment the add on this page is for GIMP2. How ironic?! lol

Funny you post this thread, I saw the same thread on Breakout and also had to have a go

Two pictures have been used here, both from the same event, i.e. the Bastille Day celebrations in 2006 on Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas Islands.
It has faults when viewed closely. But it's a first attempt!
