New camera bag needed

December 23rd, 2010
I need a new camera bag. I'm thinking about getting the Kata 3N1-10. I have a Canon 7D and three lenses I'd use regularly, and a flash.

Has anybody got this bag? If so, what are your thoughts? What about Kata bags generally - are they good quality?

Here's the link by the way: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kata-3N1-10-Small-Sling-Backpack/dp/B001GNBLNU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293102508&sr=1-1

Cheers

kata is one of the less mainstream bags out there with some very smart and practical designs. my brother has the exact bag. he fits 3 big 2.8 lenses, a flash, chargers and his olympus e30 without any problems. my tamrac backpack needs to be taken off to get the camera, but this kata can just be held sideways to get the camera from a side opening, which is very practical. though when he adds some more stuff in the bag and it becomes heavier, the strap feels a bit dangerously thin as it stretches to accommodate the extra weight. since he uses it everyday, the part of the bag that rubs against his lower back got abraded and now shows a portion of the foam padding. he's been using it for a very long time and the more it wears out, the more he loves it. :D

Also check the Lowepro Slingshot AW - great bag. I've heard good things about the Kata though. Personally I love my Domke J-1, but a lot of that is to do with it not looking so much like a camera bag, and being as tough as nails.

Hi Vik, I was given the Kata 3NI-20 for my birthday. I really like it and is a perfect size for me and very comfortable to use. The idea of being able to remove my camera from the side opening is great. My partner Steve has the Lowepro Flipside 400AW which I think is better in its organisation, but too big for me but I would think perfect for you.

@kirsty Thanks Kirsty - do you think the 3n1-10 would be too small then? is the 3n1-20 just the right size?
