I learned something

December 29th, 2010
Because I couldn't find the right caption for one of my pictures and in comments received for what I originally called my "icicle" which I changed to ice formation one of my followers mentioned what an icicle is all about and therefore the wrong name for my picture..now it gets interesting as another follower of mine came up with Stalacmites and that reminded me of a theme in the earlier days of my journey where we had a theme 1 - 12 I believe. first picture was a picture of one item..second of two and so forth..this picture of mine I'm talking out was number 8 in the theme. it only had a few views and 4 comments. I find the picture is of interest ...it's all about this Stalactites cave in West Virginia.. now what I learned today is that you can change a date on a picture and it will show up in the new place but it's not like a new upload and therefore it didn't get to the Home page. so if you would like to see some of the Stalactites you find them in my ace album under Nature at it's best.

Stalacmites grow from the bottom up and Stalactites are hanging from a ceiling.

When you posted the pic of those two ice "formations", I did see in one of your comments a link to a pic which I think you intended to be of some stalactites, but in fact it linked to your "Shadow in Front of the Moon" picture. As for you explanation above, I am not really clear on what you are trying to say, but perhaps I would need the ace membership with additional albums to understand. I can see why Vikdaddy is confused. :-)

@rayswrld.yes I noticed the wrong link and fixed it. as to what I'm trying to say is
you can re-upload a former picture by changing the dates ..it just doesn't show up in the Home page as a new picture where I was hoping for more of my followers to it. you see with an ace membership not everyone takes a look at them. I hope I haven't confused everyone by now. but I will still add..the pictures you upload into your ace album will show up on the Home page for your followers to see...this particular picture of mine was one of my early days one where I only had a few followers and I thought it deserves a little more exposure.

When I taught geography there was an easy way to remember the difference.
stalagmite - grow up from the ground.
stalactite - grow down from the ceiling.

@bruni @rayswrld @eyebrows I'm not confused as such, just puzzled by the randomness of this post!

@vikdaddy
How are you confused? Can`t you see it`s totally related to photography??

@vikdaddy I know, likewise :)

@vikdaddy I did know what they were called because we live in Mo. by several caves. But I can never remember which one went up and which one down. Thanks for the info.
