Does a photo say more than a thousand words?

I shot a photo the other day, down at the canal near the harbour here in Trondheim. A boat, a Christmas star, cold, frost.......while passing the boat, while taking the photo, a story was starting to create itself. Later I posted the photo in my blog and asked my readers to help me tell the story, and words started to grow.
The story is still unfinished, and may take unexpected turns.

I love the way photos make our minds wander, create words.
Do you have photos which you use this way, make up stories, create speacial feelings in you? Why don't you share one or two here?

Here is a link to the spesific blog post (the story still need more words, so come over and play along if you want):

Nice idea, Britt :-)

Yes, I have such a photo...

I wonder what was going on there...the boy was obviously feeling very reluctant about something. Didn't he want to go home yet, and play some more? What was his dad telling him? What threw him off like that...?

I've always wanted to be able to capture the feel of the time and place in a photo. Sometimes, I think I come close. But words, yes, there are many in a photo, when you hit the emotion, the feel, that crisp morning, the cold rain, those things that words just can't describe, that is when you have a photograph. @niara photo is one of them.
