Hello. My name is Sarah. I'm seventeen, and i'm just starting to get used to the idea of taking pictures for more than facebook. I recently was given a camera, Canon Rebel SX, for Christmas 2010. What's a better way to challenge myself with the 365 project. It's a good way to get used to my camera. Any advice or suggestions would be lovely.
1) Take your camera everywhere (to the supermarket, to school, to your Gran's - everywhere!) It'll seem weird to people at first but 365 is a good excuse and they'll soon get used to it ^^
2) Look at everything. Everything is a photo - even rubbish!
and discarded shoes
3) Click around on here. Lots of info from members if you read threads and there's an article section as well.
4) Venture past green mode on your camera. Pop it on Av and use your aperture to control your shot, rather than letting the camera do it all for you. If you're feeling particularly daring further into your project, try these tutorials to learn more about how your camera takes a shot and how you can control those aspects to get more control over your pictures:
5) Set your own rules. It's YOUR project, never mind that other people are taking their pic and uploading same day whereas you've only got time to do them in bulk at the end of the week. Or that some other bod is doing entirely family shots and you're taking pictures of caterpillars rather than your kids. Doesn't matter, take a pic of whatever the heck you like 8D Yes, you will get random people commenting on your photos, like Flickr, but don't let that stop you taking pics for yourself. At the end of the day they're off doing their own project and have their own opinions on what makes a good shot and how much post-processing is required - and you want to look back at your project and know it's yours, not what someone else wanted it to be.

i cant wait to see all my pictures at the end of the year
but im guna have to wait
question
does all your pictures stay on your site until the end of the year if im a free user
I signed up last night - I've seen some of my online friends taking part over the last couple of years but only just got around to joining in myself. I'm hoping to learn lots & enjoy lots of other folks' work.
Welcome to the 365 Project! It's a great way to improve your photography skills, and I hope you'll find that this is a great community to be in.
I've been doing this for awhile, but hope to continue into this year and beyond, I'm enjoying it so much. It's great to look back at photos from months ago and see what you were doing then.
I just started yesterday. I normally take quite a few photos anyway and thought this would be a fun challenge! I've been browsing through the photos on here for about an hour, so inspiring!
I made the project my New Year's resolution! There are so many fabulous photographers here who really inspire me to be better.
I work for my high school's literary magazine, so I hope this project will help me in that area as well.
