I was wondering if anyone has any photos with strange things going on in them..of the paranormal variety. :D I am a paranormal nerd. A huge one. I don't actively hunt ghosts (although, that would be rad), but I can't pass up a t.v. show about ghosties and hauntings and such. And, I don't have any weird photos, either. The closest thing I have is this one with something weird going on with my lens, and it looks like a UFO:
Yeah i have only seen something once at 5am when i was out doing some pre sunrise shots at the beach, when this strange fire/light thing came through the sky, it got closer to the ground and broke into a few peices and went slower than a shooting star. must have been something burning up on re entry http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=52616&id=668482282&l=251c9940ed
these are the pics i took of it, they are cropped in a fair bit so not the best quality
I keep my little grey big-eyed friend tied down in the basement,I might take a photo of him.
But right now I keep hearing noise from down there, wich means he got loose again, and since there`s no electricity down there,I`m only going down in the morning.
So I`ll get back to you tomorrow.
Either my mum or dad have a slide somewhere...it shows a family group shot outside a house. They had just left the house and it was empty, yet an old lady can be seen in the window in the shot...super spooky...will have to enquire about it!
I'm gonna tag my friend @lenni on this. She'll go on about this for days. The other day,(and I'm not making this up) her grandma told me that all unexplained child abductions are due to supernatural beings coming to Earth and (still not making this up) stealing humans to experiment on their bodies.
-_-
Nobody would make fun of you (at least I hope not!). Who knows? The world is full of unexplainable things. I took this photo awhile back and still haven't a clue but there was quite a bit of speculation!
And then there was this one that an Astronomy group (I sent it to) ended up classifying as an atmospheric condition. I originally thought it was the sun and the moon, but they said no, that wasn't possible. They couldn't really explain it to me. Like I said, who knows? That's cool you took a photo (:
@clarissajohal OH MY GOSH CLARISSA THAT IS SO FREAKY!!!!!! wow that gave me chills. @natandhayley Oh goodness....this is so intriguing, so great that you caught that!
My husband grew up on a cemetery (yes you read that correctly-ON a cemetery, his family owns the local cemetery and their house was next to the graveyards inside the cemetery grounds.) He's seen all kinds of crazy things to the point it doesn't faze him at all. It just is what it is.
There's one story I won't ever forget, (this stuff is beyond scary to me, I can't even watch scary movies like this. Though, I adore witch and vampire books, what is up with that??)
His family had a beach house in Crystal Beach (which got blown away during Hurricane Ike in 2008). They spent all their time there, his grandfather actually lived there. He always told my husband he wanted to die catching a fish. Well his wish came true. On July 4th, 1988, he died catching a stingray. As soon as he died, the stingray had babies. Just nuts.
My husband says that his grandfather never left there, not even when he died. One day he and his best friend were there (it was ten years later so they were 18 or so). The windows were always open, there was no AC, and they were being lazy on the couches. Then one of the picture frames (the one that held three pictures- a picture of his grandfather, his grandmother, and a picture of the beach house) lifted up off the wall and smacked back down. My husband's friend freaked out but my husband is super stubborn so he didn't believe anything weird had occurred, that it was the wind from the open windows.. His friend frantically shut all the windows and the door and about ten minutes later, with no AC, and no breeze to be found, the picture frame lifted up again and smacked back down.
And that is only one of the stories from that house. Stories of hazy smoke formations, stories of the figure of his grandfather, hearing someone walk up the steps when no one was at the door, their dog being in a dead sleep and waking up suddenly freaking out and running barking at the door when no one was outside. Craziness. I'm actually glad I don't have a picture of it. Though if my husband could've caught a picture of it all, he would have.
I LOVE trying to get ghost pictures!! I don't actively seek them out, but when I go somewhere that's got a lot of history or has stories about people seeing ghosts (The Catfish Plantation in Waxahachie is a favorite of mine) I go into ghost mode.. Of course I have no idea what would happen if I ever actually caught a picture of a ghost - probably have a heart attack - but doesn't stop me from trying!
On Christmas day, I was at my boyfriend's house and his mom wanted a few family pictures, I took one of them and a weird shadow appeared. It was indoors with flash, but there was absolutely nothing between us that could have casted the shadow. I took another one just a few seconds later and there was nothing. It kind of weirded us out for a few minutes!
and then there was this one in my basement which totally creeped me out:
but possible the SCARIEST one I've been able to capture was when I set my night vision camera up.....
@laceyjogautreau i am totally making fun of you for this :) j/k i LOVE this stuff, even though it gives me the willies! I would love to capture something eerie on my camera! Note: all of the above were totally made up and/or pure camera trickery...except maybe the last one....mwhahahahaha
@alisongbradshaw the eyes in the green shot are totally freaking me out cause that's all I can see as I type this. I've now made the window smaller (happy! you're gonna give me nightmares tonight :P)
Never had much happen photo wise, although I did somehow end up losing my MIL's head in this shot
Lacey, I swear Grandpa yelled at me when I spilt his ashes. Shhh don't tell mama!! I was like 12 when it happened and I swear I heard "Dont do that again you little shit" Which is what he used to say to me when I played with him. lol
@laceyjogautreau no photos of ghosts, but a story. There is a house at a ranch we stay at yearly in Wyoming with a house that's well known for having a ghost. I don't like that sort of stuff and try to avoid it, but it was the only space available last year so we were there. I took a lot of photos of the house while there (it's barely been touched since the early 1900s). On the third night of our stay I was awoken to find a man standing at the foot of the bed staring at me. He remained for a full 10 seconds before disappearing. I'm sure it was the man who built the home, an eastern doctor who became a cattleman and founded the ranch. I sensed he was just curious about me, perhaps bonding as I photographed his home. I don't know how to put photos into this window, but I will post a photo from the interior of the house today as my post.
When I went to visit Bodie last Summer - a ghost town - I took many photos and it wasn't until I posted a few last October for the Halloween Spirit that I noticed a face in the back of the room lower down - can you see it?
@laceyjogautreau I want to recommend a new book that you will likely enjoy. It is called Swamplandia by Karen Russell. It will be published on February first, but I am reading an advanced copy.
@1invisiblegrl look at about 5 o'clock from the moon (i mean, if the moon were a clock) and about an inch outward. that little saucer shaped thing in the sky? that's what i was referring to. not sure what it is, but someone on here said it looks like stray light reflecting on my lens.
Ok, I have uploaded the same photo again because I forgot that I added a fake ghost - the one crouching on the bed is fake. This is not the ghost I what you to look at - look towards the end of the bed. There is a ghostly face - he looks like he is wearing a hat. Can you see him?
@laceyjogautreau It was taken in NC about an hour or so outside of Raleigh. All three shots were taken seconds of each other. I sent the originals to the astronomy group with the time stamps, latitudes, etc., so they could figure out what it was--they just didn't know what to make of it.
@emeraldboots There are small steps going upwards to the memorial--I was taking a photo, taking a step up, taking a photo, etc., trying to make sure I got a good angle on the building. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the weird whatever. But, I was just inside the building before I took the photos and there was nothing inside that would have reflected--it was cloudy on the verge of rain that morning. My husband (the technical photo guy) couldn't really explain it from a camera angle either. Who knows?
It's also become a family joke that every time I go take photos at a graveyard--my batteries die before I snap less than 20 photos. It doesn't matter if the battery is charged up or if I bring my spare--they both get sucked dry. Go figure.
@emeraldboots When you go to that collage photo--if you click on the two photos before it, they are taken from inside the building. All the graveyard photos that week are from the Confederate cemetery.
@emeraldboots Really? Well, there was nobody there, which I was kind of grateful for. I hate people watching me take photos--it just makes me self-conscious!
@clarissajohal I am the same and I was unaware that there were three people watching me this afternoon when I took pictures of the daisy - I guess being unaware is better than being aware.

Other than a resize and border (oh and watermark) that was exactly as it was shot.
