Is the popularity of the site and the number of photos being uploaded slowing it down? If we all paid for Ace memberships would you get more bandwidth?
I was having the exact problem earlier. It was soo annoying!! I even rebooted the computer, and it was all for nothing. I guess this site is just so awesome that we're gonna have to deal with it :)
You can pretty much rule out a problem with your own computer if other sites load quickly. It was evident that the slowness was specific to 365Project.org
I account the speed to two things:
1. A server that can't handle the traffic (perhaps a homemade one in the back room).
2. With the terrible weather everywhere, we are all visiting at the same time.
Like trying to shove a watermelon through a garden hose
its got to be on a publicly hosted site, and with hosting you generally buy packages of bandwidth.. maybe with all the people hitting this site, its just getting overloaded.
Seems it's hosted with these guys http://www.eukhost.com/ on this server http://viking.eukhost.com/ along with around 129 other websites. The ones I looked at all seemed fairly low traffic, mind, so I don't think this is too much of a concern... but yeah. It's on a cheap shared hosting setup, which is understandable, and does explain the sporadic downtime/slowness :)
