I bought a point and shoot Nikon L110 about a month ago and since then I've gone through three sets of 4 AA batteries. The first set were Energizer Lithium that lasted about 100 shots, and the rest were regular Energizer batteries. The most recent ones I bought three days ago. I've shot about 70 photos, didn't use the built in flash, and hardly used the screen to view my photos. And now they're dead.
Maybe it's the camera? Or my poor choice in batteries? I've never used rechargeable batteries before but might it be a good idea for me to switch? Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
By all means, try rechargeable HiMH batteries. Not quite as powerful as alkalines but rechargeable. I recommend the Sanyo Eneloop (get a set with charger at Costco).
Love my rechargeables . . . I keep an extra set in my bag, so I always have a back up set . . . they last longer than disposables as well. Mine last thousands of shots, depending on use of flash, etc. . .
I would recommend rechargeables. You don't throw out partially used batteries, you can charge them over and over (especially the day before you expect to take lots of pictures). The only time I use disposables is as a backup if I run out of power with the rechargeables. But I've only had to do that once or twice.
It's got little if anything to do with whether they're disposable or rechargeable. It's got everything to do with the mAh. The higher the mAh, the longer they'll last, and this is reflected in the relative price.
@attraversi It's not a case of 'matching up', you just want to get the highest you can afford, disposable or rechargeable. If they are rechargeable, they'll be more expensive but will last you a lot longer when you do charge them up for a shoot.
@lynnmwatson Thousands? Wow. I'll certainly keep that in mind! Thanks Lynn!
@vikdaddy I looked up mAh and now I'm wondering how to find a battery whose mAh levels match up with my camera...
