I know I am only a few days in so there is a long way to go still.. but what do you all do with your photos after 365 days? Obviously you can keep going and do another year or whatever.. But I have had some suggestions (my 365 project is on a rubber duck theme; some of you may have seen him about, his name is Greg) for example a calendar, a collage, a children's book, a business idea (involving copyrighting etc), even an art gallery show.
Some of that seems a bit far-fetched to me, but perhaps I'm wrong?
Could you take a look at my pictures and suggest what I could do with them, it would seem a shame to get to the end and look back and think 'Well wasn't that nice but rather pointless' or if you don't want to look at my pictures just tell me what you do with yours during or at the end of the 365 days.
even if i dont do anything with my project after its done, i dont think itll be pointless to have done. its teaching me that i can accomplish something that i set out to do on a long-term basis, as well as all of the things about photography that im learning from this site.
since your project involves a specific theme, it would be really cool to put it into a book form or something along those lines.
@indiannie_jones might amount to nothing, the arts scene here is notoriously jerkish, mostly since I'm not approaching middle agedness, the gallery people aren't bad the rest of the art crowd seem to have a code...
Which makes me want to break in to it all the more, just to annoy them.
However I think I'll condense each week in to a special septuple exposure too, for interests sake. Also because the technique is a lot of fun...
@minxymissk Haha that's so true... Next year will be weird. I'll be doing my Masters, but hopefully I'll be able to take lots of lovely photos because I SHOULD be living in Wales/Anglesey if I get in at Bangor University!
@katiegc24 I am going to get my printed into a book, just so I can keep them all in one place. As you say, you dont want to get to the end and think..."ok, that was pointless"
After viewing the adventures of Greg, I agree - a book!
Having a theme is a good thing and I've considered it for next year. As for this year, I'm going to put my in a book to reflect a year in my life.
@wormentude That could work pretty well, certainly if you took the time to arrange the images based on their dominating colours...
@katiegc24 A guy in one of the bands I do photos for got a book for christmas that was his music career in photos, he showed me because some of his were in it but it looked the part. You could arrange a week to a bifold with your favourite on one side filling the page and the other six on one side or some such. But a book of greg would be great, hell you could sell that book.
@katiegc24 Greg is adorable and love your concept..my fav is Greg Hits The Bottle...lol I have to follow now to see what he does next ;)
If I were you I would do a book...as it is I plan on making a coffee table book for myself with my 365.
I kind of look at this Project as a journey--I'm not really even thinking of the end point.
Soooo, I guess my photos will sit in my Folder on my desktop, lol
What would make you happiest to do with yours?
@killerjackalope lol yeah only if your a good cook, able to iron, can use a vacuum cleaner, fold laundry, deal with stroppy teenagers, mow the grass, clean the windows, and do the shopping...!! :o)
Potentially stick this on my CV: Here's my hobby.... here's the evidence :D
From a personal stand point it will be nice to say "I achieved all of this by myself" even if I end up taking some complete howlers in the process (if you see a whole week of textbooks then you'll I've hit the photography inspiration wall)
For now, I have all of mine on a digital picture frame so I can enjoy them and the memories they stir, but that's really just a personal thing for myself.
I like the book idea, that is what I am doing with mine too, but yours will be like a story since you are using Greg for all 365, very cute idea. Good Luck! I will follow so I can view Gregs progress.
i just wanna say that its never pointless if you enjoy doing it. to other people you might be wasting your time, but you're learning and growing as an artist and a person. there may not be a big finish afterwards, there might be though. but i'm sure each and every day was worth it.
since we are on this subject, is there a way to import all these photos up on the site to a snapfish or something similar so you can make a book? For example, how do you save this project once its done?
@maccaveen@meganconley - That's what I think. But it would be a shame to have lots of people following Greg's adventures and really getting into it.. and then they just stop at the end of they year :/
Only two pictures to go for me now .. & I have no idea what to do ..honestly . ! i know the wall has been hit several times in the last 363 days.. ((o;
I really don't think i have wasted my time because i love taking pictures I just think i need a rest for a little while to recharge my camera battery's ((O; & my battery's too..
I just checked out blurb.com... too cool! I'll definitely make a book when I'm finished. I probably won't use all 365, but certainly all my most favorites.
A picture diary of your life for one year is never pointless. At least that is what I am trying to do...I want to look back and remember ...Oh...that's what I did last .....
I make books of all my summer pictures...pool, grandkids, beach, etc. Every summer has a book filled with memories and the kids love to look at the books. I add captions and different backgrounds.
I think you are very clever and creative so please give Greg a book and try to market it! Good luck

Paper mache?
That could certainly figure in to something good to do with the images.

@sytse @genesislomax @minxymissk @rlinaker @spionkopred @amorton1437 @melmellow @gavincci @bobfoto @flamez @judifff - Wow, thank you! I think I will.. a book just for me because I like it? or a book to put on sale?
It would be awesome if Greg were published :P

@indiannie_jones @judifff Any rooms to rent?
