I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I think it's pretty much taken for granted that browse and pick has been one of the best ideas put forward by a humble 365er over the past year (sorry can't remember who it was now!). Anyway, I've just noticed that recently what with all the new starters that the Topic sidebar gets filled up pretty quick and B&P disappears into the general discussion. It's not really a big thing but I was wondering whether it might be good to have a button/link on everyone's page for B&P, you know similar to the Flashback thing. I don't even know how that kind of thing would work but it just occurred to me while having my coffee...
Hmmmm .... might be hard because new threads are started all the time. I think the current one is 52. It would be impossible to look through one gigantic thread. How about you just start 53? Go find the last poster and copy/paste all the info into 53.
Another popular ongoing thread is "Pick Your Favorite For ..." . The WWYD competition will be another ongoing conversation. Maybe we need new catagory under discuss or browse.
I just caught on to the WWYD competition, and would love to see it stand out more in the sidebar. I know that if I post a topic during the day, it's gone from view by the time I get home from work--and I get no more replies.
B&P could be set up to "restart" itself after 50 or so posts, with the older threads archived.
Maybe giving themes and competitions a category on the right side bar would distinguish it from general topics more, I like HJ's idea.
Another idea would be needing approval to add a theme or competition (I don't even know who's running this show :-) rather then the general anyone add a topic type. I say this NOT to be limiting of the variety of this type of thread, but to prevent lots of people posting threads that should go elsewhere. People would submit their idea and then an admin could hit upload or add, but if it was more of a question type comment, they could direct it to another thread category.
I do like the idea of threads that highlight pictures, B&P is really cool. And I think the new WWYD will be really fun. It has been a great way to find new people to follow. But I agree, it seems easy to miss these posts right now.
