I need the sky to stop being amazing....

January 25th, 2011
Does anyone else have days like this? I love these winter skies....but it's making my project very difficult.

January 25th, 2011
i love your shots...that moon is insane..I can't stop taking photos of it.
January 25th, 2011
I know the feeling - I have to restrain myself, the skies have been amazing here recently!
January 25th, 2011
Ha! I had just been thinking about how many sky shots I've been posting too.. It's been so pretty out these past few days that I can't help myself..
January 25th, 2011
@sdpace man I'm jealous!! our skies don't look anywhere near as spectacular right now. Or maybe they do, they are just hidden behind buildings and trees.
January 25th, 2011
@amyhughes I seriously stopped 5 times on the way home from work, in addition to being honked at as 4 different red lights I was waiting at turned green. I swear, people must think I'm either a maniac or a private investigator with all the pics I take while sitting in my car. :)
January 25th, 2011
@sdpace LOL!! well if I saw those skies I would too!! I did take a pic while driving in my car this morning...lol, the other drivers must've thought I was just nuts too. But I was slowing down at a stoplight, so it wasn't like I was speed shooting..haha
January 25th, 2011
haa haa, I thought it was just me. Its like someone melted a box of crayons in the sky, I swear, I take one more picture of naked winter trees during sunset, i may end up publishing a coffee table book! Love that you are pulling over to capture the moment, a true photog stops to the ultimate photo... again, and again and again!
January 25th, 2011
@sdpace keep taking those pictures, but force yourself to use pictures of something else. I would keep posting sunset pictures, with water in front, too! I still take them, but challenge myself to find something else to post. I think it's really neat and beautiful, but looking at them day after day at the end of the month isn't going to be all that interesting to me. ;-)
January 25th, 2011
@atalitude ...and again, and again, and again..... :)
January 25th, 2011
@jeancarl good words, JeanCarl...you're right....thanks :D
January 25th, 2011
beautiful! and tough choices. i have such a weakness for sunsets, it's kind of a problem...
January 25th, 2011
I've had times like that--nothing but sky/sun pictures. I've been trying to branch out. Haha. Of course, I miss the sunrise now, it used to be about when I left my house for work. Now I'm leaving at 6:45. I just haven't been able to catch a good sunset lately due to clouds.

I love sun/sky pictures. Mother nature is amazing!
January 25th, 2011
I live on the beach and I am always taking pictures of the sunrise and the sunset. I have been working hard to find other things to photograph, but it is so hard.
January 25th, 2011
Be thankful we have had a month of overcast sky, maybe 2 days of sun at most.
January 25th, 2011
@ronaleeakarose If I lived anywhere near a beach I would probably become unemployed and homeless because all I would want to do is take photos.

@alwaystheocean We should start a support group. :)

@jjsooner I guess it is a seasonal thing...and the weather is great for actually wanting to look and go outside....the summer...in Texas....I'll probably be posting photos of my icebox contents :)

@purdy Well that sounds glum...where are you that you don't get to see the amazing effects of air pollution on the light rays from the sun?? :)
January 25th, 2011
I'm addicted to the sky as well. I'll go through phases where I don't do anything but take pictures of sunsets for days. In fact, this time of year the sun sets right about dinner time and much to my wife's chagrin, I'll excuse myself from the table for a few minutes to step out on the porch and take a few quick photos.
January 25th, 2011
@sdpace I'm just about 2-3 hours north of you, so I hear you loud and clear!
January 25th, 2011
I was thinking the same thing last week. I only posted two sky shots, but I was taking pictures of it every day. I like to photograph the sky in general, but when it's exceptionally brilliant it just makes me fill my memory card with shot after shot of sky. Your photos are spectacular, by the way.
January 25th, 2011
@ceenkhoorn wow, thank you very much :)
January 25th, 2011
samers......glad it is not just me!!!
January 25th, 2011
@sdpace clearly i'm with you as I can't seem to get enough sky shots - there's been one breathtaking sunset after the next. what are we to do???!!!
January 25th, 2011
@stepheesue Keep shuttering! If that's a word. :)
January 25th, 2011
I attend a weekly PWTTMPOSAS Anonymous meeting...(people who take too many pictures of sunsets and skies). It's not helping much. :-)
January 25th, 2011
what a lovely problem to have.. =) @sdspace your photos are amazing.
I agree with @jeancarl too - keep on snapping (or as you said, keep on shuttering!) those fantastic photos! but also try to find something else to photograph to post for your project, just for some variety... that's what I'm trying to do myself. I have a couple of spots I just LOVE taking photos of, one is of the mountains, one is of the ocean. My computer has bunches and bunches of photos of the same spot... I'm not stopping myself from "shuttering" them, but I'm also trying to take and POST pictures of other subjects, too, to keep it more interesting. =)
January 25th, 2011
I agree, the cool crisp nights here in North Carolina have led to some amazing sunsets. This was one a shot a few weeks back. I should just keep my tripod up and in the yard, because so many nights have been spectacular.

January 25th, 2011
@sosaboe This is one of most stunning God given views I have ever seen. It's a fav for me who is also addicted to the skies, and waterfalls, and rainbows.
I Praise God everytime I get the skies we have been getting I am sure it is a sign. @minxymissk Why would you turn away something so beautiful that God has made for us I would be Praising Him and not being sorry that there are so many to photograph. @sdpace I too am lucky and Blessed to have seen some amazing skies, and can only repeat what I have already said PRAISE GOD for all His masterpieces. I also Praise Him that I can see these - because the Blind sure as hell cannot imagine the beauty and the awe that we can see,.
Please keep taking the Photos and forget about peop[le who say too many, next it will be we have too many happy days or happy thoughts. Thank You God.
January 25th, 2011
On some days it is amazing...

January 25th, 2011
@glenys Wow! I'm an atheist and I enjoy sunsets. :)
January 25th, 2011
@vikdaddy Gorgeous. I need to build a pond nearby. We don't have anything with a view like this to even hope for an amazing sunset like yours!
January 25th, 2011
well if its awesome and makes you go "wow" I say keep shooting! I'm certainly guilty

January 25th, 2011
@sdpace Thanks - and I'm an atheist too, so I thank the wonderment of nature without intelligent design.
January 26th, 2011
@sdpace
Fort Wayne Indiana since Dec 15 have had 5 days of sunshine
January 26th, 2011
I love your HDR fantastic.
January 26th, 2011
@vikdaddy
Where do you live, you have great stuff, and fantastic colors.
January 26th, 2011
@purdy Nottingham, England
January 27th, 2011
@sdpace - yes, i am in dire need of a support group for sunsets, oceans, and macros. but, it's the beauty of digital, you can just keep shooting...
January 28th, 2011
@sdpace I like the idea of maniac as I've already been the PI and sometimes it's not fun ... sorry to hear you've got so many beautiful sky pix and opportunities .... maybe look at the ground? lol
