Photo website anyone?

February 2nd, 2011
I hope a thread like this hasn't been started before; but I couldn't find any. If anything like this has been posted earlier, I apologize for the double-posting.

Sooo...
Does anyone of you have a website to show your photography? Just curious... :-)

I created mine many years ago, I think I started in 1999 after learning some html, but during the years, I changed the look and concept several times. It's this one, just in case anyone would like to take a look: http://www.kirsten-scheffel.de

It's nothing special, I know... I should really work on my html skills... ;-)

Anyone else with a page?

I'm on flicker & picasa. I'll have to go back & get the links. lol I'm not so great with the html stuff either. Plus I have facebook photos. lol I loved your shots. Do you use a flicker account? I don't use my picasa account so much though.

No, I don't use flickr, or picasa. I'm sharing many of my pics on Facebook also, and I have an account on fotocommunity.de.

You may wish to consider a small annual fee for a very professional job.

I have one through Facebook (Photography by Autumn Eden) and then I have a pro site setup through SmugMug at www.autumneden.com. I am not taking loads of money but it offsets my going outside to play so it works. =)

I just did a lot of research for setting up a Pro website. Being Canadian, I had to pick a provider that would let me create a shopping cart in Canadian funds. My shortlist came down to SmugMug and PhotoBiz and PhotoBiz (www.photobiz.com) came out the winner. Your site is template based, so it's easy to setup. You can change the look of the template with no further costs and the shopping cart is by far the easiest. And at $15 per month for up to 200 pics, the price is reasonable. Even better, I can put client pics up for a month and bump up my monthly fee for that month, then remove the pics and go back to the basic amount.
You can check out my site here (capturaphoto.ca) and if you decide on PhotoBiz, tell them I sent you. And no, I'm not really soliciting business for them - I'm just a happy customer. And a $20 referral bonus isn't a lot. Just to be up-front.

@hmgphotos ok... how do you hide/select which galleries show up? I don't want every gallery, but I would like all but two. oh talking smugmug here... I finally am building my page.

@icywarm There's something in the settings that switches the gallery to owner view only, and not public view.
