So today I used the clarity function in Lightroom. I LOVE what it does-my shot from today is the first one I have used it with, and I adore this feature. However, my trial of lightroom is about to expire and I am not sure that I can fork over that kind of cash for it... I have PSE 6-is there anything remotely comparable to the "clarity" feature in PSE?
Love lightroom... It is expensive, but here is a tip... If you are a teacher, student, or even the parent of a student as young as elementary school you can get it for a significant discount. I bought mine through Academicsuperstore.com and paid $89.00. You have to prove eligibility by submitting a student ID or copy of a report card. It looks like you have a little one but maybe someone you know could order it for you! What a great deal.
I LOVE the clarity option in LR. Just to let you know, if you are a student, you can get LR 3 for $79 on amazon.com. I just purchased it and am waiting very impatiently to get it as my trial is almost up as well. One thing you have to keep in mind when purchasing the student-teacher versions, you only get one license with the software, where as, when you purchase the normal version, you get multiple licenses. Also, Adobe does verifications to see if you are in fact a student in order to get the license. They have information in the box that you have to do online to a company within Adobe called Identit-E.
@cristenfarrell Don't want to hijack but I have a kiddo in 1st grade do you think that would qualify?? They get progress reports not report cards as I knew them as a kind but same thing. I soooo want lightroom. Didn't have the $$ when my free trial expired.
@mikichelle YES! Believe it or not you qualify if you have a K-12 student. I have a first grader and a fourth grader and just did it under one of their names...
All I had to do was scan a progress report/report card (make sure it has the date of the term on it) and submit it for the approval. They do not charge your credit card until you are approved (which took less than a day).
Once I got the software in the mail, I discovered I had to do that all over again, and send the report card to adobe through their eligibility service, but again, it was easy and quick. (All online)
I went through academic superstore rather than adobe because it appeaerd from the adobe website that I would need something in addition to the report card (such as a student ID or letter from the school) and Academic Superstore only required the report card.

I haven't tried it (I own lightroom), but it looks like it works from the illustrations.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
I hope you have solution for the lightroom 3 thing yet.
