365ers from New York?

February 13th, 2011
Having never visited New York City, but desperately wanting to.. I'm just wondering if there are any 365'ers from NYC that are documenting their awesome city via this project? I'd be keen to follow you!

Ooh, so would I. I'll be visiting the Big Apple for a couple of days this spring, and I'd love to know what to be on the lookout for, photo opp-wise!

Check out Melissa. She does a fantastic job of documenting a day in the life in the city here and there. An example:

I'm from NY but about an hour outside the city so I don't have too many pictures to post on an everyday basis. However if you go to visit, I can help you out with where to go and stuff to see because I have been to the city so many times throughout my life. It's a great city!!!

Em
I used to live in New York, and I visit regularly so there's patches of it in my feed... my recommendations for photos (and general awesomeness) are: parks - The High Line (West 14th St) and Central Park North (go in around 105th & 5th Ave), rooftop - Top Of The Rock (and emphatically not the top of the Empire State) and the roof of the Metropolitan Museum although allegedly you're not allowed to take photos up there (never stopped me!), skyline - the Staten Island and/or Governor's Island ferries (both free, both awesome views), the Promenade in Brooklyn, architecture - Grand Central as per Melissa's photo above and the Frick for classic, 6th Ave from 42nd up for the real canyon-y skyscraper feel, people watching - Broadway and Houston (which is also home to the excellent Angelika cinema, worth a visit even if you don't have time for a film, the cafe has incredible pastries - Oh, and, there's a giant Picasso sculpture in the courtyard of the NYU dorms just west of there). I could go on pretty much forever :)

Check out Lisette--> http://365project.org/lisettear/365
My sister lives in NYC and Lisette is a friend of hers. I think she does a great job at capturing the essence of NYC every day life and takes great pics.
