I'm new here and you have probably discussed this ad nauseum, but I really just want to use my cell phone to take pics. I'm no photographer. Mostly I just want to record each day of my life in pictures and using my cell phone will be so much more convenient. Besides, it takes ok pics.
I'm new here but I can tell you that from what I have seen so far, this site is very versatile and accepting of ALL photographers - make your project what you want it to be! I love documenting my life in photos, whatever the quality may be (and mine are not the best). As long as my project represents what I did each day or what I took an interest in each day, I'm satisfied :) And I take a lot of my photos with my iPod Touch and they are NOT the best...it only has something like a 1.3 megapixel camera :-/
Don't stress about using your phone. There are plenty of people doing it just like you. I am one of those said people. While I do hope to upgrade to something a little flasher in the future, for the moment I'm quite happy using my phone. The photos I have taken thus far I am pretty happy with and quite proud of. Good Luck on your 365.
I have been using mine as a medium lately. I have an Evo and at first I wrote it off, but once I figured out that I absolutely had to be completely steady with the phone, I took some amazing shots. It really has better color capture than my Nikon digital (maybe I just need to figure out how to use that too).
most photos i have put up here are from my cell phone... 2 from my DSLR, less than 10 from point and shoot, the rest from my cell phone. one thing i am using 365 for is to get a different perspective on shooting, and just having fun and reflecting on my day to day. there is nothing wrong with cell phone images - my biggest problem with cell is checking to make sure the lens is clean before i start shooting with it.
Wow..I'm glad I'm not the only one. I visualized everyone here having fancy cameras and being seasoned photographers! For me, this isn't going to be about quality of photos. It's going to be about documenting my day to day life and I think pictures can add to that in a big way. Having said that, I can see where I might really get into the photography aspect of this...LOL. Some of the photos I've seen here are really beautiful.
No problems with that at all! I know there are many others on here who use their phones for the project. One that I follow, Brad, http://365project.org/bradsworld/365 is also doing his project on his phone camera and has some amazingly inspirational shots!
So I say go for it! and welcome!
@sunmoonie my whole project so far has been done with my cell's camera & a cpl photography apps like retro camera and camera 360. You said you're using the Fascinate? I'm using my Samsung Captivate. You should be able to get some good photos & the apps I've been using are available as free versions, though I use the 360 app so much I finally bought the paid version for like $3.

Good luck with your project, hopefully you get a year...
I use mine occasionally. I think it sucks, but it captures a moment and can make very interesting images too.
After looking at some of your pics, I'm really impressed that you are using your phone. They're beautiful! I hope I can do as well with my phone too!
