Today I reached 100 fans on my facebook page and I'm absolutely rapt!!
I was thinking of doing some sort of promotion to get more fans, but am not sure what to do?
Am thinking of either
a) getting people to tag themselves in a photo that they would like a print of - their friends would then see the tag and maybe go and like my page, or
b) Asking people to upload a photo of themselves/their family, and get their friends to like or comment on the photo in order to win a free shoot. in order to vote, people would have to become fans, right?
Has anyone done anything similar? If so, any tips would be appreciated :)

United Airlines had a contest where people uploaded a 2-min video of what their dream 3-day vacation anywhere in the world would be. The one who got the most likes won. But that was a app-like page.
hey Kirsty! I own 2 photography businesses, so 2 fanpages, my first page HoofPrints Photography, has been up and running for about a year and i've just reached over 1200 fans!
my second page - the Light Fantastic - has only been live for nearly 2 months and i've nearly cracked 300 fans!
The comps i've had to get my fans up are
HoofPrints - i had a monthly comp for photo shoots that i had done, i picked one photo from each (usually the clients fave) and put it in a comp album, then they had all their friends over to vote on their image, and they won a discount on their package of photos if they won
A comp where they uploaded an image to my wall and then i put it in an album for voting, and they got all their friends over to vote, this meant that people i hadnt previously photographed could enter
the Light Fantastic - i have my first comp finishing tonight - I made some images, with samples of my photos on it, and had people tag themselves in the image of the shoot they wanted to win - i had newborn/baby shoot, family shoot and alternative theme shoot up for grabs - then they automatically had that image on their profile where all their friends can see it, and they got people over to the photo to vote on it - i've now almost tripled my fans in one week
something else to remember is that facebook dont like competitions run on their page, you can apply to facebook to run comps, but i've never bothered with that, but if they find out you're running comps from your page they can delete your entire page! so to get around this get yourself a blog, and put all the info about the comp in there, and then people just do what it says on your page to win, link it to your page, and on the album of the comp put the link to the blog so that people can read the terms and conditions
