So irritated with myself!!!!

Today I got out of my car at Target and there was a tree FULL of fat little birds screeching their lungs out! The clouds behind were white and fluffy- the sun just starting to peek out- an AMAZING shot! And I could NOT get my camera to work :(( As I stood there fiddling with the settings trying to make it work, one by one, the birds flew away. Finally I was looking at a gray sky and a birdless tree when I realized I still had the magnifying lens on from playing with it the night before. Dumb dumb dumb! Please tell me I'm not the only one out there that does such things :(

At least you had your camera . . . I always forget mine and then smack myself in the forehead when I see a cool shot I should've gotten. You're not alone :)

Oh well, a better image will be available then you won't have to choose. ;-)

Been there, done that! Back in the days of film, there were a few times I was happily snapping away only to discover that the film didn't catch and was never advancing, thus no pics.

I've also learnt the hard way.
I now always reset the camera back to my default settings when I've finished a shoot, ready for the next time.

For me it is getting somewhere, framing the shot and then realising that my memory card is still home in the computer.... not once but twice and the second time is when I flew to Melbourne.

I now carry a spare card in my purse so this doesn't happen again

This has happened to me so many times. Curse those magnifying screw-ons!

even worse is when you think you've captured an amazing shot, get excited and then see 'no memory card' pop up on the screen.. damn! then of course you can never recreate or capture it the same as you did the first time :(

I've done the no memory card thing too. So maddening!! @valhamil, you are not alone!!

or clicking several breathetaking photos of a TODDLER, and you realize your ISO is at its highest from playing inside the night before :( Then having the mom ask about those particular photos, how embarressing.

I can't begin to list all my screw ups! Guess it's all part of the learning process. :)

I have done worse, but trust me you will not make the same mistake again. @tnamari A tip i was giving was, put the camara back to P each time after use, that way at least you will get a shot.

Happens to me all the time. The other night I saw a fox and got the camera out. It was in the distance so had to change lenses. I tried to do it as quietly as I could but by the time I set up it was gone. So annoying.

Thanks for the support- nice to know I am not alone! I took the one almost ok photo and gave it the neon treatment to try to give it some interest. I also posted the original. If you'd like to take a look on my page and give me some pointers, I'd be eternally grateful :D

A few days ago I was on my way home and saw the most amazing rainbow. When I pulled up outside I was about to run in and grab my camera because it was still visible, only to realise my house keys were inside with my camera.
And I've done the no memory card thing so many times I've lost count. You're definitely not alone lol.
