I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but out of curiousity, I thought I'd ask. Is there any way to make our accounts more private? For example, on Facebook, you can change your settings so only friends can see your posts, or friends of friends. I'm just wondering, is there any way to limit our project to only registered 365 users?
What prompted me to ask was a friend said they "googled" me, and she said that she could see my project, discussions I'd started, discussions I'd commented on.... It just seemed a little..... creepy. So, I apologize if this has been hashed out before, but just thought I'd throw it out there and see if I'm the only one wondering about this. :)
Part of my job at work deals with internet security. If you put information on the internet in any form, privacy is forfeited to some degree. You can do things like change your name, to make it harder for people to find you, but the information is still out there.
@lislee75 I'm, with you I don't think there are many places on the internet that give my real and correct name - academic or publication sites only I've seen
I would like to be able to block some people. I once had someone start following me on the project with the user name of snoweydonut. They had posted no photos and followed no one else nor had any followers. I found it kind of odd and a bit creepy and would have liked to have blocked them. They ended up disappearing but still!!
I wish there were privacy settings... I mentioned a little girl up the road. Didn't even give her name and her mum freaked out because she thought a pedophile would be able to trace me through this site. I changed my name - I'm not really called Marinade Spatula :-)
?? I may be missing the point - I'm not running from anyone, I have nothing to hide, paedophiles can find easier ways to get to my kids than trawling this site. If I had anything to hide I'd of signed up with a false name!
If you are freaked out by not having your privacy, change your details in your profile
and as regards to Facebook they can only share your details if you give them and also give permission - I didn't :-)
BTW, I've just done a serch for my name, PMSL I don't know any of the me's that showed up in google and 365 doesn't appear on any of the pages I checked.
Guess I'm just lucky to have such a popular name ;-)
I've just googled my, my nickname. And only my Jan & Feb albums from here popped up. A few selected pictures from my personnal website popped up too.. one of them appearing to be on a different website address, that doesn't work! Says my Firefox cannot find the server. I'm confuzzled now. I know it's mine, plus it's still got my stamp on it.. my lilbumblebee name at the bottom. Hmm. I'm getting my Andy to look into it.. :o)
@kjoslyn I am reading an old thread, can you tell me how to change my user name so when I google my full name it doesn't display my 365 project photos for the whole world to see?

The simplist way is not to use your full name. Have a user name
