i have just downloaded the pdf file of the canonA1 instruction manual for when my dad delivers his camera into my care and OMG,how many dials and buttons are there on that beast? this is going to be a real learning curve
The A1 is an awesome camera! To me, it is one of the highest quality (still) 35mm cameras made (next to the Nikon F6).
You will find it is not as bad as you think . No menus, and all that other digi-stuff. Load a roll of Velvia50 (for landscapes) or Kodak E100G into it (natural color, for people shots, etc.)
i always wanted to get my hands on it from the day my dad bought it,it's been years since i used film though,i think i'm going to stick to b&w and try and get the filters off my sister in law because my dad leant her some lenses and stuff

You will be hooked!
