nudes

is it ok to photograph people fully nude ? or is it wrong to do so?
March 3rd, 2011
@joshphoto Of course it's not wrong to photograph nudes. Some people might find it objectionable if you post photos to 365 with clearly visible genitals, though. I'm just sayin'.

I don't find it wrong, in the name of art, but there have been points brought up about people not being comfortable with it. Especially because of the younger members we have here on the site. I think this is an excellent topic for Ross to mull over (if it hasn't been addressed by him already). @scrivna

but is it restricted to use photographs with fully genitals tho
March 3rd, 2011
@joshphoto Depends really, I don't think it's morally objectionable as long as you're not doing it through a window while up a tree...

One thing is the line between something artistic and tasteful and something pornographic, though that line has little to do with how much someone is wearing and a lot more to do with body language and focus, as in the focus of the image, not the focus of the lens...

Oh, I thought you meant on 365. If you just mean in general, I absolutely think it's okay. Some beautiful nudes have been done by others, and many are very well known, like Helmut Newton and Arno minkkinen...not to mention bajillions of paintings since the beginning of art that depict nudes. The human form should be celebrated, in my opinion.

my girlfriend wants to do full nude showing everything
March 3rd, 2011
Oh, okay, I'm following this thread a little slowly. :) I'm not sure if it's restricted, I've never tried to do it. Perhaps there is something mentioned in the rules of the site?

@killerjackalope "as long as you're not doing it through a window while up a tree..." - That cracked me up!
March 3rd, 2011
@joshphoto I would say have fun and enjoy a nice photo session with her but I would tread carefully with what you post here. There are younger members on the site and this is a very public forum (I know my boss checks out my photos occasionally) so discretion is probably best. Just my .02. =)

im wondering how many people wont mind the nude photographs id love for as many people as possible to comment
March 3rd, 2011
My profile picture is a nude self portrait but being that this is such an open site I edited it so that it would not be offensive.

I save my nude pictures for sites which are created for explicit photos. That way I do not have to worry about offending anyone or having a child come across my photo.

@killerjackalope Cracked me up too!!!
March 3rd, 2011
im thinkin of doing self nude too what other site you use @ sissybufu
March 3rd, 2011
i'd say breast and butts are ok if artistic, but i wouldn't post or want to see genitalia.
March 3rd, 2011
@gesshoku are you offended by them ?
March 3rd, 2011
@joshphoto no. but there are kids on this site. and some people may be offended.
March 3rd, 2011
@gesshoku even tho there are kids on this site shouldn't there be a choice for people to explore all types of photography :)
March 3rd, 2011
NOTHING wrong with TAKING a photo a someone nude.. Just like there is NOTHING wrong with TAKING a photo if you are fully clothed,. shouldnt you ask the person you are taking the photo of , if they want you clothed or not!!
March 3rd, 2011
@laceyjogautreau . No rules to state you cant post a nude..
March 3rd, 2011
@joshphoto sure i do. but is it appropriate for *this* site? if there was a way to post those kind of photos and have some kind of block so that only people over 18 could see, then i'd say go ahead. but there isn't. it's much safer not to post genitalia here. in my opinion.
March 3rd, 2011
maybe someone should suggest to ross if he can put a NSFW ( Not Safe For Work ) option on here lol
March 3rd, 2011
It's a tough call, because peoples values are so different. What I may consider OK, someone else may consider pornographic.
March 3rd, 2011
As long as they're aware that you're photographing them, then I don't see a problem :)
