What do you guys think of this lens? Do you think it's a good buy for a DX user like me? Would appreciate your inputs. Many thanks!

That is my fav length on 35mm film and I find it gives the Nifty Fifty feel on digital... I don't think it will serve you wrong... a touch tight indoors but fast enough for darker rooms with just a spot of light...

I love the 35mm! I'm a Nikon DX user too.

I have the 50mm f/1.8 for my DX Nikon, and while I love it and use it all the time, I still wish I had the 35mm, and would probably use it more. For the price, it's a no brainer.

@mcsastudillo when i got that lens for my d3000, it almost never left the body of the camera. it's good for group portraits, wide still lifes, and surprisingly, it's the best landscape lens i've ever used. :D pretty useful in low light too...

I picked up the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC back when it was first introduced since the 50mm felt too long for me on a DX camera, and I loved it. If the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 DX was available I may have gone that route.

thanks a lot guys! your feedback has reinforced my decision to get this lens. :) i was thinking of getting the AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D, but it's in FX format and won't autofocus in my D3100. plus the price is a winner too!
