*IRC is one option, there are loads of them that would work for this...

Or at the very least an internal e-mail system. That way if someone has a question or comment for a photographer that isn't necessarily related to a specific photograph they could just send them an internal message.

Chat? isn't that what messenger & Co. are all about?

I make sure chat is turned off when I'm on Facebook as it's a pain in the A. anyone who has my Email can use Messenger to get me live.

I think a chat option would be awesome! I love all the people I have met on here. :) I don't do skype. My laptop might crash. :( I do have yahoo on my phone though.
