@amyhughes u have to buy an infrared filter amy ....mine is hoya R72, then after taking a photo, u have to edit it .... there are some free tutorial sites online .... try this one: http://www.infovein.org/infrared/index.html
@misschuff - Try setting a custom white balance off of a patch of green grass while the IR filter is on. That should help with the color. Then remember to compose and focus with the filter off, set it on a tripod at around F5.6 - F8. Put the filter back on and shoot. (some lenses get awful hotspots on them when you stop down too far, but IR light doesn't always focus at the same point as visible light, so you can't shoot wide open)
@sudweeks thank you ... all being well I'll play with this on Friday afternoon. Not done a custome WB so that will be interesting - done it on video all the time but not a stills. Composing and focus with the filter off is good but I think I tend to move the focus when screwing the filter on. I'll do a run of the filters I have and post on flickr and maybe here again.
Thanks! I know you to be the guru of this here.
I also played around with Ultraviolet photography. It's not nearly as easy, it's expensive and the results aren't nearly as good.

Suggestions to improve and give this another go or tutorial link most welcome.
