Anyone have pictures of the beauty, character, people, and culture of Japan to share so that we can reflect on their loss and keep them in our hearts as they come to grips and recover from this tragedy?
My brother has a friend in Japan. I am awaiting news of how he and his family are doing. I think I will take a picture of my mother's doll from Japan today (given to her by my brother's friend).
@marthashields@judifff@daisy My heart goes out to all of those in Japan and those that have friends and loved ones there. We are on Tsunami watch here on the west coast of USA.
Whilst not of something Japanese my thoughts and prayers have been with the people involved in this disaster all day and so I dedicated my photo for today to everyone affected.
My thoughts are with the people of Japan and their relatives throughout the world. Another shocking natural disaster..if there is anyone on here who who is affected by the tsunami we are here to listen and share your concerns.
I, too, have a cousin and her husband along with their 3 young children living in Japan. We have not heard from them yet. We are praying they are all ok.
I posted this photo this morning from a vacation to Japan a few years ago. My friend who got me involved in this project lived in the area of the tsunmai for two years teaching English.
My prayers and my thoughts are with the Japanese people who suffered from the earthquake and tsunamis. I took these two photographs today in honor of my brothers and sisters on the other side of the world.
Thank you all for sharing your beautiful pics... And those of you with concerns, we all hope you hear good news soon that your family and friends are safe and whole
my brother and his gf live in kyoto, but she happened to be in tokyo today for a conference. now they're stranded apart from each other and the phone networks are down and there's some pretty bad aftershocks coming through. scary stuff.
My heart and prayers go out to everyone in japan and all on here who have family and friends in japan.
I took this photo yesterday gosh looking back now at the timing it could not be more perfect for this...
Once Frito heard about the 8.9 tsunami that destroyed the coast of japan, he was shocked. Frito and I have a special place in our hearts for the Japanese. So we invited our Japanese candy friends over for some tea.
I have never been to Japan (would love to go), but this was my photo today. My thoughts are with those in Japan and those who have friends/family in Japan:
I have a few friends here and luckily they are alright. I was extremely upset at some of the things I heard on the radio today from the spectators along the southern california coastline though... http://365project.org/hcjohnso/365/2011-03-11
@marthashields I don't have any pictures on-hand (and don't want to cheat and get on google images) but I hope you and your little ones appreciate the few pieces of japanese culture in your DVD collection I've introduced you to...
My aunt was a Baptist Missionary and travelled the world. On one of her visits back home she brought me this hand painted bottle. I don't know how well you can tell from the photo but the painting is on the *inside* of the bottle, what makes it even more remarkable is that the opening at the top, where they had to reach the brushes in, is literally just a 3/8 of an inch wide!
The kanji means love.
ocha-japanese green tea:
my heart aches for japan :(
