Video of News about Earthquake (Tokyo)

March 13th, 2011
I live in Southern Japan on Honshu Island. We were unaffected but are still under a tsunami advisory. Today I recorded video about the ongoing disaster here. I notice that sometimes once the original disaster has subsided that it becomes forgotten or put in the back of our minds. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone at all. I just thought I would post something as the days unfold from this disaster. I caught this off an apparent English speaking news channel. We don't watch TV on any normal basis so I'm unaware of the details.

Over the next few days, I think I'm going to record some more local news showing the clean up and rescue efforts, to keep some communities updated and aware of the ongoing recovery.

Again I am well and completely out of danger as far as I know. If you have family or relatives in the northern stricken area, I will be unable to help. The phone communication is shoddy at best and I'm hours away from anywhere. The best way I can help you is put my hope and trust in those sent to help those in need. I have heard from many people across the various U.S. bases that alot of U.S. military has mobilized to help with the recovery effort.

The video link doesn't seem to work here is the Link to the 365 page.

Thinking of everyone involved in this horrific disaster. The bad news seems to just keep coming. So good of you to post updates of what is happening in your stricken country. I'll be certain to check your posts. Thoughts with you.

@zabcoloma @peggysirk Thank you for the kind words to you both. Maybe this week I'll find something in blossom and can photograph that instead of a tragic story.

@silverdraggin . From what I heard last night there are at least 45 countries either sending people or aide over to Japan...
Th UK , Australia. and the Japanese team that went to help in New Zealand and the LA based team that helped save that woman from Hatti 6 days after their quake are on their way to Japan.
This is news that wont fade quickly from the news reports...
Thinking of everyone over there...

@nikkers I wish I could do something myself, however, even residents are having problems getting to the affected areas. What's a lost soul to do. All I can do is support our military here so they can support Northern Japan.

So I was hoping to get a beautiful photograph today but I woke up with a sore throat and body aches. Today isn't a good day for me. On top of all the disaster going on in Japan, I've just read that the Volcano Shinmoedake on the island of Kyushu (Just south of Honshu) has begun spewing ash again after weeks of quiet. This volcano originally became active in January. The volcano is on the South East side of the island so hopefully alot of this is blowing out to sea, however, if you have family in the area you might try to contact them.
