To answer your question directly, there is very few differences. The hardware is virtually identical, but there are a few features that may sway you. Two of the biggest changes are the flip out LCD and wireless flash control. So, if either of those things would be worth the $50-$100 premium, then go for it. But if you aren't shooting a lot of video or in situatiosn where a flipout LCD would be useful, or if you won't be firing flashes wirelessly, IMO save the money.

Otherwise, the sensor is identical, the processors are identical, and body construction is virtually identical. The upgrades on the 600D are mostly for the person who will be taking more video with it. I currently own the 550D and there's nothing on the 600D that makes me wish I could upgrade. But then again, I don't shoot video with mine.

@marubozo Thanks Jeremy... I am not keen in the video. I guess I will go for the 550D then that extra money will be going to extra lenses. Thanks

@ddantic Good call IMO if you aren't going to be doing much video. I'll admit, since I shoot the stars at night a bit there are a few times where I could have saved my back with a rotating LCD, but in the end I'd rather spend that 100 bucks on a nice tripod, a 50mm lens, or any number of other things that will actually help me take better photos.

Either way, good luck, and you will no doubt love the camera. Like others have said long before on various corners of the web, this camera will take photos every bit as good as the 7D, so there's nothing to worry about.
