so I had... an idea....

I have been toying around with what to do with my 365 project. so far, most of the shots i have taken have been shots of events and life happenings, something like a journal of sorts. i am thinking of continuing this, and doing something in addition, which is actually making a journal of it. with that, i am thinking of trying to find a program that i can use with it to make a journal with the images, then easily transfer to a book of sorts. anyone know of software that might allow that?

I’ve thought the same thing. Every book option I’ve found does not allow much room for the commentary which is an important part of my story.

I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do with this project to. What I have done is purchased a 365 book from Kiki K which obviously has 365 numbered pages in a nicely covered book. I am going to put my photo and the commentary in photoshop and print out and stick in each page. Something to keep in mind with many photo book options is that they generally don't have the capacity for 365 pages.

I've used Blurb.com and been very happy (and it's not that expensive). There are many different templates you can use, but there are definitely ones that allow commentary along with a large photo. Good luck!

If you have a Shutterfly account, you can make books with commentary. Contingent on how wordy you get, it can fly. Just set up an album, post to it daily. Keep the journals in a separate log elsewhere. When you are done, make the book, and merge the dialog to it. A little time consuming, but it will definitely work.

I have made more than one book there, and it is a quality job.

Chris, I have to tell you what I just decided to do. I decided to scrapbook my 365 project. So, I've been posting for two months, so I am sent the 62 photos I've uploaded thus far to my local photo lab for printing (cost me about $20.00) and I bought a photo album, for which I will post each photo, along with the caption of the day. Every two months, I will print another 60 photos and put them in my scrapbook, so I have a live, visual book of my year. I'm very excited about it! Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

I actually have done this. Blurb is great. If you set up a blogger.com account and place your photos/journal entries on there, you can easily transfer them to blurb.

I'm using Blurb.com as I go along - you can mix words and pix easily and it'll allow over 365 pages which some other sites don't!!
