Printing Software

What software (preferably free) do you use to print photos at home? I haven't printed any myself for over 8 years, and back then I had something free from HP that was very good at arranging different photos in different layouts to optimize the paper.

I have Windows Live Photo Gallery, GIMP, Canon's DDP, and a HP Officejet 6500 printer that I haven't looked at the software at all. Any recommendations on any of these or other free ones? I've looked at Photo Gallery, but if I choose two 4x6 that is all I can do, I can't fit any other smaller ones. Or at least that is what I remember it doing.

Tried some HP stuff, Lightroom trial, Photo Gallery and none of it was as easy as I wanted. HP stuff was awful. Lightroom would let me lay it out, but after 10 minutes of playing I could only get the same image on a page multiple times, instead of different images. Photo Gallery printed, but it looked horrible. I think it was software and not the printer though.

they say ADOBE InDesign is good for layouting photos, so it doesn't mess when you're printing, and the cropping would be just straight on.. i had the same problem too, on what printing software or layouting softwares i have to use hhehehehe =)

I was trying to do 2 4x6 or 4 3x5 prints and was really struggling.
