The other day I logged in and was told I had 317 views in one day. I thought this was odd, but ignored it. My views for today just jumped from about 7 to 206. That's odd. There's no way I've had that many views today, plus the breakdown shows that I've had less than 40 views in the last 24 hours, which is more realistic.
I have noticed similar weirdness with my stats. Some days I'll have quite a few views and such, and I'll feel like queen of the world then other days when I have 20 views I'll feel somewhat "not worthy". Oh, well.....I think it's all smoke and mirrors anyway.
@eyebrows Well at 20 bones a year I don`t expect much... the fact Ross keeps this up as much as he does is crazy! I spend 100x that on IT for the office and I still never get emails in a timely manner and my back-ups are always just off...

But if we can't trust the stats then where will we find approval and affirmation? And if the stats are WRONG, then what if we're more popular than we know? Or less popular? What if NO ONE is really viewing our pictures and it's all just an illusion??? **shrieks in terror**
I cant figure out the stats either...today I have 12 comments on a photo with 0 views. Go figure. Maybe that explains why the magic monkies don't like my photos...they don't ever see them. No biggie! I've lost all faith in my stats. My faith now lies in my followers who are a TOTAL blessing to me.
@lauren211why ace membership? Because it's the decent thing to do, it helps Ross maintain the site and keep it going, and it's like 20p or something. I renewed my membership even though I'm hardly here these days :)
@lauren211 - why not? You've done more than a year, your photos will start disappearing soon. And you can see all this cool info like what is your most popular shot. I was really surprised by mine.
Let's think. You could have stats that behave like that, depending on how they work. Say the daily numbers relate to an actual week day, you might have a quiet day and then a busy day, but the stats for the busy day might not appear until the end of that day. So you would see low stats until the end of the busy day then it could jump.
It's not that unrealistic, I have seen a day with 110 views in between days with 10 and 17. What happened on the big day? I suppose I might have been browsing and commenting and adding people more than usual, and they might have returned the favour or had a look at my project as a result.
As for the 24 hour thing, you can't rely on that because the stats show the TOP TEN most viewed photos and the total views will include all photos not the top ten. If someone looks back over a load of your photos they will bump up the views quite a bit without making one image stand out in the stats.
