April 9th, 2011
no Mac none of the time.
April 9th, 2011
@eyebrows - I've been thinking about changing my desk top to a Mac as "everyone" raves about them - why are you against them?
April 9th, 2011
@shenay...LOL shenay

@stepheesue...thanks Steph

@eyebrows...this should be good!!!
April 9th, 2011
@kjarn @stepheesue

They're just a bit locked down, and less flexible, generally, than the windows alternative
April 9th, 2011
I'm with Mr. Teddy Bear just say no to Mac!
April 9th, 2011
@eyebrows...oh this is wonderful...you made LMAO!!!
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows @angievega I dont' want to say you're wrong, because clearly you are far more tech savvy than I* - BUT (big butt here) Macs are 100% more "user-friendly" more intuitive and just generally fabulous. And, yes, we can all have our opinions, can't we?

*for example your really cute graphic up there that I probably would be able to do. . .
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows oh, and you're right, this should be good because people aren't generally on the fence about this stuff. . .i'll be checking back in to see how the wind is blowing.
April 10th, 2011
@stepheesue no, nobody may have an opinion if it's wrong :P

No, really, though: Macs are fine, ok. They're fine! They're fine for your average computer user who's never going to care about customising it, and wants whatever they bought from the shop to "just work". That's what Apple specialise in. That's also why I hate them, but I can still be objective :P
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows @stepheesue
i appreciate and definitely respect everyones opinion. with that being said, I do like my customisation benefits. I have an iPad and i do love it but i can't do the things i like from there. thanks again to both for putting your thoughts on here...
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows...btw, great interview
April 10th, 2011
@angievega aww, thanks *blush* :p

With a laptop I'd be mostly concerned about the weight of it and the battery life. Also the viewable angles of the screen, they tend to be bad. That said... I have one that's 17", weighs a tonne, lasts two hours and with a screen that's basically invisible if you're not looking dead straight at it, so maybe I'm not best to advise :p
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows - as I have no use for either a cut throat razor nor an electric shaver I'm stuck with the bowling pin?
April 10th, 2011
@kjarn haha, 'fraid so! Just be glad I didn't post up the other well known comparison image (which, named "choose your weapon", can be found via a google image search for "linux mac windows") :P
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows - that is hilarious! You really are trying to convince me to get a Mac though :-)
April 10th, 2011
@kjarn haha! :P

No expert for sure but....although Mac users report "no virus's" with their system, their price point alone would steer me clear. I have had a Gateway laptop widescreen that has taken tons of abuse and just keeps on ticking! I use an external hard drive for my large programs and photos and since it is at least 6yrs old I will be shopping for another Gateway soon. Good luck @angievega
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows :-)
April 10th, 2011
@eyebrows...I just google the choose your weapon version...with that link I'm thinking Mac...your interpretations with each picture in just great. Thanks for your input again.
April 10th, 2011
@rmkgreene...thanks Ruth...i had a gateway years ago and it was pretty good but for some reason I changed to Dell. :)))
April 10th, 2011
I have been using PC laptops for years. This year I got a MacBook Air. It's light to carry, it has plenty of power. I use it regularly to process my photos with Photoshop. I love it :-)
April 10th, 2011
I wish I could choose a side, I really do....But I've found that both PCs and Macs have their pro's and cons, like everything! No computer is perfect...So, that being said I currently have a Dell Inspiron 1440 with Windows 7, and I love it! They come in a bunch of colors too, I have green. So just choose whatever fits you best, good luck!

Nod
I used to build my own PCs. Now I only have one PC and the rest of the ones we use (5 family members) are all Mac. Just very easy to use and screen is excellent.

April 10th, 2011
@smithss_27106 @viranod...thanks Susan and Nod for your suggestion

@refriedradio...jessica i've owned a dell for some time now and i do love it, just wanted to see if there was something else out there worth the change...thanks

DO NOT get a Toshiba! They are crap.
April 10th, 2011
Don't listen to Mac haters!!!!!! I use both platforms and would NEVER give up my Mac. Those who don't like Macs have probably never used one for more than a few minutes!
April 10th, 2011
@mej2011...LOL..well noted!!! thanks

@dejongdd...hahaha...i do have to say that i've only played with the mac for just a few minutes, so i don't have the expertise to know much about them...but i do like the freedom of customising programs to my laptops and that's the only thing that might keep me from using a mac...thanks

@smithss_27106 Has the MacBook Air got enough grunt (like memory) for Photoshop?
I have a 8 yo iBook that is still going but just grinds away if I load/upload large files. I was looking at the Mac Book Air and I'm very taken by the 2lb-ish weight advantage.
Have you had any problems?

@angievega For a laptop, definitely NOT Toshiba. I've had an Everex Step-Note for six years, solely for safe web browsing and photography, and out of those six years, it hasn't gotten a virus, hasn't frozen, and hasn't shut down or began updates whenever I didn't want it to. My older brother, though, has a Compaq, and he says it's the best computer he's ever had the pleasure of owning. He doesn't do photography, but he does a lot more than I do; Watch movies, edit reviews, play games, make videos, etc. And he absolutely loves it! No one in my family has ever been a Mac fan, and I worked with Macs for about two years taking photography in high school. Personally, I would never, ever use one again willingly. Everyone hated using them, including the teacher. Of course, we still had to have our work on the Macs in class. It wasn't fun, though. We very quickly learned how good of an investment flash drives bigger than 8 GB are and began doing as much work as possible at home after the drag of the first year. The teacher always brought his own laptop every day, a PC, and a few other students and I were granted permission to do the same on special occasions. I know of people personally who have been lucky enough to receive a Mac book that hasn't failed them, though, but to be honest, they're not more enthused about it than I am about my PC. The first words I've heard after about a week are, "Macs ARE NOT all they're cracked up to be. Of course, this is hear-say, so I could understand if you didn't want to put faith into that; Just thought I'd throw in my two cents! :D

@eyebrows I love your name. =P lol I had to let you know when I saw it!

@dejongdd Actually, I used a Mac for an entire two years taking photography in high school. I explained more in my reply to Sarah, but even the teacher was not fond of his Mac book. I suppose, though, it's a matter of preference, and those who are blessed enough to get a Mac Book that's GOOD to them, as you seem to be, are lucky and envied! It's not everyday I hear of a Mac user who's thoroughly happy with one! :D Lucky, lucky!

@toxicalice92 why thank you *curtsy* ^_^

I use both Mac and PC. I am that cool.
January 21st, 2012
@eyebrows I just saw the pic comments for it; I was hoping it was a Doctor Who reference! :D
