My 7 Year Old and My 6 Year Old are taking part in 365 @AlexandTia
They were using My Panasonic Point and Shoot, I use an Olympus, My 6 Year Old dropped the Panasonic, not once but twice on laminate, its broken now, If You take a Photo the bottom half is ok but the top has a big thick black line going across, it looks as though the Lens is broken, they are gutted, they are using My Camera with Me watching them like a Hawk and insisting the Neck Strap is used, I would like to get them another Point and Shoot, nothing spectactular, quite cheap in price too and preferreably to take SD Cards and AA Batteries, Any recommendations ?

Canon Power Shot 10D... its shock proof and waterproof... or the olympus shock/water proof one?

I've had both, i really liked the olympus but after 2 years of being dropped it finally died (im talking dropped from adult head height, off the top of the car, thrown... you name it! so it did last a while ;) ) the canon we have now, is chunky which is great for lex hes dropped it a fair few times and its held up FINE! :)

might be worth the extra little bit to ensure you know it will last?
both took SD cards (i think... >.< ) but both have their own chargers.

@lisahutchinson - the only suggestion I would make is that you should look for something with a rechargeable lithium ion battery because they last so much longer. It's requires slightly more investment, but will save in the long run because even rechargeable AA batteries stop holding their charge after a while.

Definitely one of the water / shock proof cameras that are on the market. Something like: http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-fuji-finepix-xp10-black-digital-camera/p1519389

Powershots and fuji's range with all the colours available are relatively cheap and will take some abuse...

Those touch cameras come with a price tag attached but are more likely to survive, alternatively you could go with an off brand - big box shops and computery places will have them, make sure you try them out, some are awful and some are awesome...

Thanks for all the replies, Im in shock, 2 Year Old was playing with the what I thought was dead Camera, He dropped it, I just thought never mind its broken anyhow now so He can have it to play with, I turned it on a while ago just out of curiosity, took a Photo just a random of my feet LOL and guess what, No black line and the quality was ok where as the previous photos had lines through like and the dark patch at the top like previously mentioned, they used my Camera for Todays Photo but will let them try theirs tomorrow and see if it is working ok if not I will def be checking out All of Your Links.
