Suggestion for the site...,

April 16th, 2011
I was just thinking about how some websites have like a "member spotlight" or "featured member" section for a random person on the site. It would be kinda neat if this website had a section like that, it could change daily, hourly, whenever you log into the website... whenever. Maybe like a photographer of the day or something like that? I just think it would be a great way for people to get more views/comments/followers :)

I agree. If you have the "most popular" image...showcase it. Make that person the photog of the day. I like that!

i think there should be a ipod ipad ietc app for 365 where you can look at all the pictures and upload and other things

@AshleyMiller great idea!!

@preston I do from my phone all the time... just email the photo to your personal link... see the upload photo section... and to view photos just log in on your phone...

I have noticed a few interviews have appeared of late, including one with the Alleged Teddy Bear recently. This is a great way of getting to know the person behind the lens... Although your suggestion would be a little more regular???

I think it is a very good idea, it will get more peoples photography out there and get more followers and things like that.

Thanks, I love this idea, how do we go about picking people to be spotlighted? There are so many good people!
April 16th, 2011
@Scrivna Random selection of people who have posted every day for a week. That way it gets people who are regular and doesn't come upon an inactive account. I suggest you start with me :-) lol.

Keep up the good work, the site is awesome!

Just an idea, I'm no computer expert so don't know if that would be possible.

ah yeah... PHOTOG OF THE DAY!!!!!! lovely idea... =)

and i have this on mind as well.....

sometimes you have this photo that people really like, that comments are overflowing, plus you made a discussion where 100 people commented on it... so let's just say there 50 people commented on 1 photo and a hundred on the discussion board.. so you'll be havin' 150 individual notifications.. woah... so i thought of why not compress it to... like "Mac Eugenio and 49 others commented on your photo" then the other will be "Mac Eugenio and 99 others commented on your discussion" just a thought... coz sometimes, i overlooked some comments on my other photos... because of the alrge numbers of notifications..

just a thought.. ^__^ enjoy the rest of your day! =)

@mrgtrueman People who post every day for a week? Does that then mean that I would never get chosen because I almost never have a week where I post *every* day.. but I still have a photo for every day because I often upload two at a time, simply because I am very busy and don't necessarily have the time to upload every day.. :/

Great idea though.. @scrivna not sure how else you would pick randomly though, perhaps people who comment on discussions often/post discussion threads etc/are generally active on the site? :/

@maceugenio YES! I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned before.. Facebook started doing that a while ago, would be awesome to have it on here because I often miss things as well :(

@Scrivna "photographer of the day" randomly picked by photo monkeys, someone who posts every day as that is the idea of the site (might encourage less "bulk loading"). Obviously great pictures and not allowed to be chosen again for... six months. The amount of followers or comments shouldn't make a difference as that creates the imbalance, I have loads of followers but I am certain many are not on here for days at a time, I think maybe 100 out of 300+ of mine actually really "follow", it certainly makes my getting to the popular page even more of a challenge!!!
April 16th, 2011
@michellegaynor I thought the idea was to take a photo a day..?
April 16th, 2011
Love the ideas on here!
@Scrivna: One more thing I have been thinking about: it would be nice to be able to contact 365ers through messages that can't be seen by everyone. I know we could just all be friends on facebook and do it there but it would be so lovely to send a private message on this platform once in a while, I think.

@Scrivna Just showcase the bad people then! ;0)
April 16th, 2011
@katiegc24 that is the idea but my wall is often chok-a-block with bulk loads from those who haven't found time to load each day and load a week in one fell swoop, their pictures don't get the attention they deserve as I tend to scroll down the thumbnails when that happens.

@jannaellen @Scrivna I really like this idea too, a personal message option....
April 16th, 2011
@michellegaynor Yeah that's annoying.. but there's no harm in doing two at a time if you didn't have time on one day, and I don't think that should automatically write you out of being the 'photographer of the day/week/whatever'. Just a thought.

@jannaellen Personal message would be good :D

@Scrivna Ross, I am so glad you like the idea! :) I was thinking it could just be totally random, that way some lesser known people can get noticed too...but its your site! lol. I noticed a couple of people said they would want it to be someone who posts everyday so inactive accounts don't come up. While I think its a great idea I also don't think its really fair to all the busy people like me who are still active on the site just don't have time to upload a picture everyday. Keep up the great work!! :)

I'm with @katiegc24. What with college and work, I find it hard to upload faithfully one photo every day, and I refuse to use fillers. The only rule I have for my project is to make sure that each day has a photo uploaded *taken* on that day. I don't think it's fair to exclude people on this basis.

i do fine the latest pictures get updated so quickly that the picture i upload seem to disappear within minutes... maybe like a little advert box where it randomly changes all the time
