Not on my project - I'm having way too much fun at that!! I give up on both trying to keep up with Thank you's and trying to keep up with commenting. I know this was a thread that was previously brought up on here, but at the time I was of the mindset that I would keep up with the thank you's and be able to comment. Not so much. I like to browse through my followers work for the day, comment on what catches my eye, then browse through the PP, New Faces, and the latest page and make a few comments here and there as well. (Don't want to miss any good talent out there) But I'm finding this all increasingly difficult to do and manage the amount of time I spend on it. SO - I'm going to just stick with my regular commenting (as the people I follow know - I'm pretty regular at it) - and hope that all my lovely followers can just assume that you know I'm grateful for your wonderful feedback. I usually comment back to anyone that comments on my photos anyways, so that's the same as a Thank You, right? Plus, I know it can be a bit disappointing to click on a notification only to find a group "thank you!!" (insert smiley face here) and I know my peeps would prefer I take a looksy at their photos instead. So. We're good, right? Are we good?
Sorry to anyone out there who took the time to read this and then found that they utterly do not care about any of this at all ;)

I totally agree with this! It is hard to keep up with all the thank you's, and i feel really bad just putting a group thank you all the time, but sometimes it's the only way i can get around to doing it, as it's soooo hard to get around everyone.
I think that people know that others appreciate and admire their work, just by the amount of times the picture is viewed. So i'm happy not to always have a comment or two.....although it is nice every now and then!. :-D
I agree!!!!!!!!!!! I never wonder if anyone got my comment. I just like looking and commenting and do not need a reply to that! I hope they know how much I appreciate it their comments also. I agree that it is a waste of time to say thank you! You go! Sassy??? oh no!

Also - just wanted to clarify....I will still be browsing through the PP, New Faces, and latest pages and commenting happily away. I didn't want anyone to think that I'm just going to restrict myself to just commenting on people that comment on me. that would be silly.
I'm with all of you. Couldn't have said it better myself! I comment on those who comment on mine as a thankyou, plus anything else I really like. Hope that makes sense?
An idea..... I know we are mad at facebook for deleting TWO of our apps....but....I do like the way you can "like" a comment someone left for you on there. I wonder if Ross could add that to this site. That way it is easy to acknowledge that you read it. But, that may be silly. Just a thought.
I'm definitely getting there...when the previous thread was posted i didnt give it a second thought and said i can do it...well now i am at the point that it is very hard.
Damn let's sass things up in here. It is insanely un-sassy at the moment. After your "You know who you are" comment, I was expecting a discussion thread full of sass .. instead, there are a load of totally sass-less replies. How disappointing. Could we make this more sassful?

@pwallis You had better post thank yous .. or else I will find your house and I will .. erm .. decorate the outside with cartoons of elephants. Yeah, you'd better be scared.
As a general rule, I comment on my followers photos at least once a week, and am trying to also make sure it includes a note about why I like their photo. I think my best compliment is "you are having an excellent photo week." As the weather gets nicer I am going to be away from the computer more and will have less time.
@pwallis You know what else is frightening? If you don't keep up with commenting and thank yous, I will send my crack team of velociraptors after you and they will hunt you down mercilessly until you get yo ass back on the 365 project website and comment on every single photo ever posted on here since the beginning of time.
@pwallis Paula I TOTALLY hear what you are saying. I too saw that discussion a few weeks back and stubbornly thought, nope I can continue the way I have been. Well that was before I went back to fulltime work. Now not only struggling with commenting and thanking, I'm lucky if I have time for a photo...can't stop now, after my awesome gift I got. You know what I'm talking about =)
I have been so slack in commenting lately and have all these amazing comments on my photos. Today I WILL comment back. I've just sent a group thankyou ( you were included ) , I also think there was a personal reply in there as well....Are we all good, lol. I think the approach I'm going to take is to comment back on their photo. It's probably a lot more personal to do it that way. @eringoodman I LOVE that idea. I know everyone is like we don't want it too get to much like facebook, but I think that would be a great idea. I think you should email Ross =)
I am with you. I used to be MUCH more vocal on here but it is impossible for me to keep up and I am increasingly busier as the weather gets better. I am happy to comment when I can and keep up with posting each day. I can't do more than that.
After I saw the thread that people were annoyed at being thanked I quit. It was exhausting. Plus it makes it hard to read other's comments between all the thanks. I comment back on those who comment on me, then others after that. Then try to answer any specific questions if there are any about the photo. I still spend way to much time on here.
I'm with ya sister. i'm doing good somedays to just get a photo posted. Even better if I can comment on even half the people I follow. Thanking each of my commenters (is that even a word?) would consume what's left of my allocated sleep time! I love seeing everyone's photos, and I'm completely humbled when others make comments on mine. There should probably be a "spouses of 365'ers" support group cause my hubs thinks I'm crazy for spending as much time on here as I do. He loves my project, but doesn't understand the time committment at all.
Yeah, I'm there now. I'd rather comment than thank, although sometimes it feels rude. I do like to continue conversations, that's fun too. To each their own. If anyone is offended that I don't always thank, then Oh, well. :)
I have to be honest here - I would much rather someone take a minute and at least look at my last photo even and comment (good or bad) rather than thank me in their thread. I only comment on what I like - so no thanks needed. But that's just me. :)
Yeah.. I know that feel. I'd rather a comment than a thank. I feel pretty bad sometimes when I get a lot of comments and I don't reply to them - but only because I don't have anything to say, other than 'thank you'. But I hope all my followers know that I appreciate it . I love starting discussion threads and I think I make it pretty clear in them that I love all my comments and favs and followers etc.
Anyway, this is a photography website, not a social network (although it kinda is that too, but only as a side effect of all the awesome people/photographs on here) so you don't have to comment, and there shouldn't be rules on what you can and can't say/do .. if someone doesn't like that you didn't thank them then they don't have to comment again. Simples.
And if anyone ever has any problems with people getting sassy about not being thanked, or being thanked too much, or whatever - just give me a call. I will set the velociraptors on them.
Agreed! I don't do the thank yous - I'd much rather take the time to comment on others (and I'd much rather get comments on mine than thank yous also). I do answer a question if someone asks. And I like the back and forth. But the obligatory thank yous - not necessary, I say.
Oh . . . Me TOO! I try so hard, not at the thank yous, I choose to believe that's implicit :D . . . but I do try to comment every few days on the photos of those I follow and it is tough. I just hope all my followees know how much I enjoy their shots, even if I can't get to them every day!
Oh, thanx for posting this, Paula! I think, I'll just join you in saying the same thing. So many people say so many nice things about my pictures and I just can't keep up. I don't want to lose the fun I had with this project right from the start and have it turn to the stressful endeavour of thanking everyone and commenting back all the time. I try hard but sometimes it's just so much. So, if any of my followers are reading this: I'm sorry, I love you guys but sometimes my life just wants some time as well ;).
