I started playing around with time lapse a couple months ago and plan to go back to it soon. None of my attempts are good, but I did have fun making them (and learning what to fix next time round.

There's also a guy who does absolutely amazing time lapse out there on the 'Net: Josh Owens at Mindrelic
Firstly thanks so much for posting your links these are great - I love the driving one the best, do you mind me asking what settings you did for this in terms of the lapse and the number of shots? I also loved the boats in the sunrise film :D
Secondly that Mindrelic stuff is just superb. I am so completely blown away by what professionals can do - thansk so much for taking the time to reply :D
@cazink If I remember correctly, the driving sequence was 1 shot every 2 seconds. I'd change it to 1 per second if I were to do it again, as I think it would be a bit less jumpy that way. I set the number of shots at the max. (999), but had to stop the camera before reaching that number; I think I made it back home in around 750 shots. The two biggest lessons learned from that experience were 1) wash the windscreen before doing a driving time-lapse! (heh heh) and 2) secure the tripod head so the camera doesn't droop when you take a sharp corner. ;-)
Both the clouds and the sunrise were shot at 4-second intervals, which was fine, but I should have used a good strong ND filter to keep the shutter speeds slow-ish (for smoother results) without the over-exposure you saw in the resulting clips.
