Tamron AF 60mm f/2.0 Macro Lens

I decided to sell off all of my Coach bags (look me up on Facebook if you are in the market for one!) and have taken the $$$ to pay off my camera (done!) and invest in a macro lens. I am doing a bunch of research and have seen some really good reviews on this one:

I would be using with my Nikon D5000. Do you have it? How do you like it? Amazon has a pretty good price on it but I want some feedback from users here if possible to see if you would go with this one or if you have another recommendation.

I LOVE my Tamron AF 60mm f/2.0 Macro lens!!! I have a Nikon D90 that I use it with. The DOF is fantastic with this lens, and after much trial and error, I've been able to take some pretty fun macro photos. Many of my photos here were taken with that lens. It also takes great photos from a distance with that same DOF. I have nothing bad to say about this lens, I'm very pleased with it. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to buy it. =)

I use mine with my D60. The lens is wonderful. I'm not as good as the lens.;-/ This is my first Macro lens and I've had fun learning how to use it.

I have been loving my Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro, and I can be sure that you'll do fabulous things with whichever lens you get! :)

I'm having major macro envy. I recently rented a 60mm macro for canon and am hoping to be able to buy the 100mm in the next few months. I just shot a bunch of water and wine drops and can't wait to do them again when I have a real macro lens attached to my camera.

I own the Nikon 60mm f/2.8, and the Sigma 180mm f/3.5. My girlfriend owns a Tamron 90mm f/2.8.

The 60mm f/2 is a very nice lens, but I would go the 90mm for the extra length (it doubles very nicely as a portrait lens)

@aim54x Thanks for the recommendation! I have heard that it makes a great portrait lens, I am just not sure if the price difference will keep me at the 60mm.

Thanks for your feedback! I did order the lens and realized I did so just in time because I qualify for a $100 rebate, too! I am getting it cheaper than anything listed on eBay! LOL

@autumnseden Great to hear that you have scored yourself a great lens.....I didnt realise the 90mm is twice as much as the 60mm....it isnt here in Australia
