Bird Folks - ID needed please =)

This little guy decided to peak on our car windows while I was taking my main pic for today. I apologize for the blurry pics as he was moving quick and I need practice on pics like this. My daughter and I were wondering what type of bird he might be! Thanks!

I think he's too bright blue to be a robin. Whatever he is, he's got such cheerful colors! I enjoyed seeing your pictures of him!

@angievega @kchuk - Thanks for the replies. He just had us all giggling cause he was not afraid of the car at all. He kept looking in at us and even held on for a bit when we started moving again.

Yep, looks like a Bluebird. Nice shots.

I agree, Eastern Bluebird. In my experience they tend to be much more timid, so you were fortunate. Great shots. :)

Yes this is a bluebird, we have a pair nesting in our backyard!! :) They are not really a common sight so you are lucky! Great pictures :) You are also right to call it a "he" this is a male, they are much brighter than the females.

@AshleyMiller - Neat to know! I had a feeling he was male.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm guessing they probably live in some of the protected areas on base. =)

@lolanae You might be near a "bluebird trail" :) People are working hard to bring this beautiful bird back. They were almost wiped out by starlings and house sparrows.

Yup, bluebird! Lucky you!

This is definitely an Eastern Bluebird. There are also western and mountain bluebirds.
