Regaining Interest..?

May 11th, 2011
I've noticed recently that I rarely get comments on my pictures. At first, I got like at least 10 comments per picture! I was just wondering if this was a trend that other people had noticed, or is it just me? If so..are my pictures getting worse? And if not..why do people not comment anymore! It's just sort of discouraging..hahaha

My comments are down from what they used to be too. I think a lot of people are giving up on their projects or have gotten really busy.

For me, its about balance.. I could spend a crazy amount of hours on this site alone.. everyday,, but that bloody stupid pain in the arse called life gets in the way of it..
I think as with most of us.. life just catches up with us, and at some point we have to let some things go..
I would try not to think that my photos are "getting worse" . Mainly because Im not here for other people.. now dont get me wrong. I very much enjoy the interactions I have with people on this site, but I am here mainly for me and my efforts , and not to worry about if other people think that my photos are good or not... :)

oh also,, if you are commenting on other peoples photos , you will tend to have that reciprocated . :)

I have seen less views and less comments on my photos and I cannot decide if it is that my photos are slightly different and not as interesting or if it is just that people are not as active.

I've noticed this. Seems some folks have just disappeared lately.

I noticed this too. My views used to be around 200 per photo... now its like 40 or 50ish. Comments have dropped too. I'm guessing it could be due to the weather getting nicer... less time available for hanging around inside on the computer. Maybe some of it has to do with people losing interest in my shots. IDK - but don't feel like you're alone. =)

I noticed the same thing! I keep going back to my photos that I thought were pretty nice and trying to figure out where I went wrong :D Happy to see that I am not alone!

You're not alone. I was just wondering this earlier too!

Well I guess it is decided, for once it really is not us, but them. Thanks for starting this discussion, I was actually reaching a point where I would remove the better photo and throw up a flower (they are always so popular) just to see if it got more reaction.

I guess we should all just decide that we are going to trust our photo judgment and assume that less people are active on this site.

I used to spend inordinate amounts of time commenting on other people's photos. When I realized that for the most part it wasn't being reciprocated, I cut down. I still look at the photos of those I follow....I only comment on those that take the time to give me some feedback. Although I do this for myself, I'm so new to photography that I was hoping for insight from the more experienced. It just isn't working out that way.

I've noticed less views and comments on my photos, too. I've been trying to limit my time on this site so I can actually do something else sometimes. Ha ha ...I used to stay up til 2:00 and 3:00 a.m. commenting on lots of photos, etc. but I don't comment as much now. It's all about some 'balance' in my life. I still view lots of photos though and enjoy the people I follow.

Maybe you all should comment on each other photo's and they will then get more views and comments!

Now that the weather has gotten nicer here in CA, I have been spending more time outdoors and less time on the computer. Yard work and other nice weather activities. I do try to check in here a couple times a day. I'm just not spending hours on here like I did in the Winter.
