There is a special event that will be happing this week - on Wednesday a conference room at Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham, MA will be dedicated to my father-in-law. He was a member of the original faculty, teaching math, and was the advisor for the first four year class to graduate. He substitute taught at the school for a long time, after his retirement, and was there the day before the school turned 50. He did not teach this year for the first time in many years. We are hoping for an outdoor ceremony for the dedication.
From a photography point of view - any advise on indoor photography with only the built in flash to my camera. I am looking for advise for manual setting and/or flash settings.
I'm not sure what you have for equipment, but I prefer ambient light without the flash. If I do have to use a flash due to extreme low light situations, I usually bounce the flash off of the ceiling, sync at a slower shutter speed. But, I don't think your on-camera flah can bounce. Try using a slower shutter speed as this should help with background lighting. You may need to play with your flash settings if possible , using less flash power. Experiment......
@mikegl71 The room is an interior room with not much natural light. I would use a slower shutter speed but I would have to use a tripod or monopod to cut down on camera shake. I have a Canon Rebel XS.
Hey Joe- no advice, but- I live in Shirley, MA and know some people out in Ashburnham including Dave Uminski, the principal at Oakmont and the Weiderman's. Congrats to your dad and- small world, huh.
BTW- they are calling for rain all week....
