I have been looking at some things as my requests for photography seem to be growing. I'm really thinking I want to donate a portion of my time and skills. I have found a bunch of different organizations that you can volunteer for, and I think I may try to do one. I am really interested in the Operation: Love ReUnited the most, but I don't think they are accepting applicants at this time. Do you volunteer your time and skills and to where?
Ive actually had shots taken though OPLove its a great program. From what I hear just apply anyways since it goes by what area you are in vs and over all number count.
I'd like to get involved in one that takes photos of newborns who pass away but they require you to be a professional only and I'm not qualified for that.
I am going to volunteer to take some pictures for a few nature organizations in my area this summer too.
@nicolekos I haven't done as much as I should have, but I recently did portraits at a tea held at a local girls' home. It was great for them because they don't get to attend proms or homecomings. I provided each of them with a 5x7 and added a logo and date on the picture that named the event.
As someone who has founded and run several small nonprofit organizations, I want to suggest that another way to volunteer is to see if smaller groups would like someone to photograph their events. Small organizations rarely have the capacity to get quality photographs, and this can make a real difference in newsletters, outreach, websites and fundraising. Just an idea!

@shortperson2002 The app isn't even up! I called them to ask about it, but when you click to apply, it says it's not available :(
